Why different interpretations of Quran verses?

maulana, agla sawal singapore se hai mr. slish malhotra ka. unhon ne likha hai: "maulana, my question for this morning is that we all have been delivered a message of god through quran, which is the book of god. this book has no other meaning other than that has been stated . then why are the verses being interpreted in different manner? is this a twenty first century phenomena? is this because there are too many distractions in the world today as compared to before? given below are two reasons why i am asking this from you.

my first reason is from a common person view . when i speak to my muslim friends, i often remind them that they should not drink wine or smoke as this is forbidden. and i am often told that my interpretation is wrong as the verse says that you may not drink and not you must not drink. this is a clear example of misinterpretation.

secondly, the reason from my muslim friends, second reason from my muslim friends who often debate and justify their actions taken by extremists in palestine, afghanistan and hell osama bin laden as a true representative of muslims who dare to challenge the powerful countries. this again is a misinterpretation by very educated people who have several degrees to their names. please throw some light on this." dekhen, ilm ki do bari branches hain: humanities aur physical sciences. physical sciences jo hain, woh mathematics par base karti hain.

lekin humanities mein aap mathematics nahin chala sakte. yahan par to yani philosophy, philosophical thinking chalti hai. to physical science mein option sirf ek rehta hai. kyunke do aur do char hi banenge. do aur do mil kar na paanch banenge, na teen banenge. to physical science mein aap ke liye option sirf ek rehta hai ke jo mathematical calculations hain, jo baat nikal rahi hai, us ko maan len. lekin humanities mein aisa nahin ho sakta.

dawat ka kaam jo hai, woh is ka ta'alluq humanities se hai. humanities to humanities mein hamesha mis interpretation ka mauqa baqi rahe ga. aap kuch bhi kahiye, kuch bhi kahiye, aadmi ke liye mauqa rahega ke us ko ek aur angle se dekhe, ek aur baat us mein mila de. to mis interpretation jo hai, woh humanities mein hamesha rehta hai. to yahan par kya cheez bachati hai aadmi ko? woh hai sincerity. yani text nahin bacha sakta.

yaad rakhiye, physical science mein text hi kafi hai ke aap ko bachaye mis interpretation se. khud text kafi hai. humanities mein jis ko, jis ka mazhab se ta'alluq hai, rohaniyat se ta'alluq hai, wahan par khud text kabhi bhi nahin bacha sakta aap ko mis interpretation se. woh to yeh hai ke aadmi sincere ho, aadmi waqai honest ho aur waqatan is ke andar objective thinking ho. tab bach payega. woh nahin bachega nahin. hamesha kuch ko kuch keh dega. mujhe ek bohat hi ajeeb waqia yaad aaya.

main lucknow mein ek baar road pe chal raha tha paidal to maine dekha ke ek ek naujawan cycle daudata hua aa ya. bohat tez dorata hua. to wahan par mor tha. to mor par jab woh mara to aage ek bechara dehati boodha koi tha, us se takra gaya. to woh gir ke gir pada hua. woh cycle bhi ruk gayi. to jo aadmi gir gaya tha road par, us ne kaha ke is ladke se kaha ke ghanti kyun nahi bajai? to ladka kehta hai ke ghanti na ho to? to us ne kaha ke break kyun nahi lagaya? to ladka kehta hai ke break na ho to?

to us bechare ne kaha ke tumhare paas ghanti bhi nahi, break bhi nahi, to tez kyun dorate ho? phir kya kehta hai? kya tum se push ko daudaun? yeh hai insaan. insaan se kuch bhi kahiye, kuch bhi kahiye, ek baat nahi nikal lega is mein. yaani humanities mein sirf physics mein aadmi ka munh band kar sakte hain aap calculation ke zariye, mathematical calculation ke zariye. humanities mein nahi band kar sakte aap. kuch bhi woh kehta rahega woh. to misinterpretation ka imkan to khatm nahi ho sakta.

sirf yeh mumkin hai ke hum aadmi ko samjha bujha kar us ko sincere banayein, seriousness paida karein us ke andar, honesty layein us ke andar, Allah ka dar paida karein us ke andar, aakhirat ka khauf paida karein. tabhi woh bachega warna warna is ka darwaza band hone wala nahi. yaani Allah ka khauf band kar sakta hai darwaza warna apne aap woh band hone wala darwaza band hone wala nahi.
