وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٖ وَكَانَ عَرۡشُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلۡمَآءِ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلٗاۗ وَلَئِن قُلۡتَ إِنَّكُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ لَيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٞ
And it is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days - and His Throne had been upon water - that He might test you as to which of you is best in deed. But if you say, "Indeed, you are resurrected after death," those who disbelieve will surely say, "This is not but obvious magic
The present world was created by God in six days, that is, in six stages or six periods. There was a period when its surface was covered with water. In this part of God’s domain, only water was seen everywhere at that time. Then, at God’s behest, patches of land emerged and water filled the great hollows which became the seas and the oceans. In this way it was possible for various species of life to come into existence on the earth. God has the power to give an ideal shape to things and events, but He has chosen to fashion this world in a less than ideal way, so that it may serve as a testing ground for man. Indeed, God’s purpose in creating the world and settling human beings upon it was to single out the doers of good deeds. ‘Good deed’ is actually another name for a realistic deed, i.e. one which a man is required to perform in accordance with reality, without there being any pressure upon him to do. The realistic person is one who appreciates the hidden hand of God by peering through the cause-and-effect veil which, by design, He has drawn over His creations; he is one who, in spite of apparently having power, renders himself powerless; one who, in spite of having the option of leading an arrogant life, becomes obedient to God. In the present world, the selection of such realistic persons continues unremittingly. When the period of this selection is over, the present system will be replaced by another standard system in which all good things will be allotted only to those who perform good deeds, leaving all bad things for the wrongdoers. Almighty God does not immediately catch hold of those who deny the truth and the arrogant in view of His rule of giving respite; i.e. He gives them respite to the fullest possible extent, so that they may be warned and reform themselves, or finally prove themselves guilty. This rule of respite becomes a cause of misunderstanding to certain arrogant people. They forget their real position of powerlessness and start indulging in tall talk. But, when they are smitten by God’s scourge, they will there and then come to know how helpless they are in comparison to God.
موجودہ دنیا کو خدا نے چھ دنوں یعنی چھ ادوار (periods) میں پیدا کیا ہے۔ زمین پر ایک ایسا دور گزرا ہے جب کہ اس کی سطح پانی سے ڈھکی ہوئی تھی۔ خدا کی سلطنت کے اس حصہ میں اس وقت صرف پانی نظر آتا تھا۔ ا س کے بعد خدا کے حکم سے خشکی کے علاقے ابھر آئے اور پانی سمندروں کی گہرائی میں جمع ہوگیا۔ اس طرح یہ ممکن ہوا کہ زمین پر موجودہ انواع حیات ظہور میں آئیں۔
خدا اگر چہ قادر ہے کہ واقعات کو اچانک ظاہر کردے۔ مگر یہ دنیا انسان کے لیے بطور امتحان گاہ بنائی گئی ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ خدا نے موجودہ دنیا کو منصوبہ کے تحت بنایا اور اپنی تخلیقات پر اسباب کا پردہ قائم رکھا۔
دنیا کی پیدائش اور اس پر انسان کی آبادکاری سے خدا کا مقصود اچھا عمل کرنے والے کا انتخاب ہے۔ ’’اچھا عمل ‘‘ دراصل حقیقت پسندانہ عمل کا دوسرا نام ہے۔ یعنی کسی دباؤکے بغیر وہ کرنا جو از روئے حقیقت آدمی کو کرنا چاہیے۔ حقیقت پسند شخص وہ ہے جو اسباب کے ظاہری پردہ سے گزر کر خدا کی چھپی ہوئی کارفرمائی کو دیکھ لے۔ بظاہر اختیار رکھتے ہوئے اپنے آپ کو بے اختیار کرلے۔ سرکشی کی زندگی گزارنے کا موقع رکھتے ہوئے خدا کا تابعدار بن جائے۔
موجودہ دنیا میں ایسے ہی حقیقت پسند انسانوں کا چناؤ ہورہا ہے۔ جب چناؤ کی یہ مدت ختم ہوگی تو موجودہ نظام کو ختم کرکے دوسرا معیاری نظام بنایا جائے گا جہاں تمام اچھی چیزیں صرف اچھا عمل کرنے والوں کے لیے ہوں گی اور تمام بری چیزیں صرف برا عمل کرنے والوں کے لیے۔
اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے قانون مہلت کی وجہ سے منکروں اور سرکشوں کو فوراً نہیں پکڑتا۔ ان کو انتہائی حد تک موقع دیتاہے کہ وہ یا تو متنبہ ہوکر اپنی اصلاح کرلیں یا آخری طورپر اپنے آپ کو مجرم ثابت کردیں۔ یہ قانون مہلت بعض سرکشوں کے لیے غلط فہمی کا سبب بن جاتاہے۔ وہ اپنی حیثیت کو بھول کر بڑی بڑی باتیں کرنے لگتے ہیں۔ مگر جب وہ خدا کی پکڑ میں آجائیںگے اس وقت انھیں معلوم ہوگا کہ وہ خدا کے مقابلہ میں کس قدر بے بس تھے۔
