۞رَبِّ قَدۡ ءَاتَيۡتَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُلۡكِ وَعَلَّمۡتَنِي مِن تَأۡوِيلِ ٱلۡأَحَادِيثِۚ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَنتَ وَلِيِّۦ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ تَوَفَّنِي مُسۡلِمٗا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
My Lord, You have given me [something] of sovereignty and taught me of the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous
The one who rejects the truth looks at everything from the point of view of the human being, while a believer looks at everything in relation to God. Joseph received a high administrative post and he ascribed it to God’s generosity. He had the ability to interpret dreams but said that God had taught him all he knew. His own near and dear ones caused him trouble; even then he looked at this from the point of view that these were subtle devices of God by means of which He planned his intellectual and spiritual development. His sense of the majesty of God had obliterated all feelings of personal superiority. Even on reaching the zenith of worldly glory, he uttered these words, ‘O, God! Your being is all-powerful. It is You who fulfill all my needs. Kindly help me in the world as well as in the Hereafter. Include me among those people who have had the inspiration to submit to Your will in the world and in the Hereafter and are worthy of Your eternal reward.’
غیر مومن ہر چیز کو انسان کے اعتبارسے دیکھتا ہے اور مومن ہر چیز کو خدا کے اعتبار سے۔ حضرت یوسف کو اعلیٰ حکومتی عہدہ ملا تو اس کو بھی انھوںنے خدا کا عطیہ قرار دیا۔ ان کو تاویل اور تعبیر کا علم حاصل ہوا تو انھوںنے کہا کہ یہ مجھ کو خدا نے سکھایا ہے۔ ان کے اپنوں نے انھیں مصیبت میں ڈالا تو اس کو بھی انھوں نے اس نظر سے دیکھا کہ یہ خدا کی لطیف تدبیریں تھی جن کے ذریعہ وہ مجھ کو ارتقائی سفر کرارہا تھا۔
خدا کی عظمت کے احساس نے ان سے ذاتی عظمت کے تمام احساسات چھین ليے تھے۔ دنیوی بلندی کی چوٹی پر پہنچ کر بھی ان کی زبان سے جو الفاظ نکلے وہ یہ تھے — خدایا، تو ہی تمام طاقتوں کا مالک ہے۔ تو ہی میرے سب کام بنانے والا ہے۔ تو دنیا اور آخرت میں میری مدد فرما۔ مجھ کو ان لوگوں میں شامل فرما جو دنیا میں تیری پسند پر چلنے کی توفیق پاتے ہیں اور آخرت میں تیرا ابدی انعام حاصل کرتے ہیں۔
