فَلَمَّا سَمِعَتۡ بِمَكۡرِهِنَّ أَرۡسَلَتۡ إِلَيۡهِنَّ وَأَعۡتَدَتۡ لَهُنَّ مُتَّكَـٔٗا وَءَاتَتۡ كُلَّ وَٰحِدَةٖ مِّنۡهُنَّ سِكِّينٗا وَقَالَتِ ٱخۡرُجۡ عَلَيۡهِنَّۖ فَلَمَّا رَأَيۡنَهُۥٓ أَكۡبَرۡنَهُۥ وَقَطَّعۡنَ أَيۡدِيَهُنَّ وَقُلۡنَ حَٰشَ لِلَّهِ مَا هَٰذَا بَشَرًا إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا مَلَكٞ كَرِيمٞ
So when she heard of their scheming, she sent for them and prepared for them a banquet and gave each one of them a knife and said [to Joseph], "Come out before them." And when they saw him, they greatly admired him and cut their hands and said, "Perfect is Allah! This is not a man; this is none but a noble angel
Certain ladies of noble families were invited by Zulaykha to meet Joseph and they saw in him a handsome young man. Joseph also could have seen these ladies as a means of satisfying the desires of his lower self. But even in the most exciting of circumstances, he did not see them as such. The ladies were all so thrilled by his extremely charming personality, that, in their extreme state of absorption, they injured their hands with knives while cutting fruit. But Joseph’s whole attention was directed towards God. God’s greatness and Majesty so dominated his senses that nothing could divert his attention. What a difference there is between one human being and another.
اس قصہ میں ایک طرف مصر کے اونچے طبقہ کی خواتین تھیں اور دوسری طرف حضرت یوسف۔ خواتین آپ کو بس ایک خوب صورت جوان کی صورت میں دیکھ رہی تھیں۔ اسی طرح حضرت یوسف ان خواتین کو تسکین نفس کے سامان کے روپ میں دیکھ سکتے تھے۔ مگر انتہائی ہیجان خیز حالات میں بھی آپ نے ایسا نہیں کیا۔
خواتین کا حال یہ تھا کہ وہ سب کی سب آپ کی پُرکشش شخصیت کی طرف متوجہ تھیں۔ حتی کہ شدّت محویت میں انھوں نے چھری سے پھل کاٹتے ہوئے اپنے ہاتھ زخمی کرليے۔ مگر حضرت یوسف اپنی تمام تر توجہ خدا کی طرف لگائے ہوئے تھے۔ خدا کی عظمت وکبریائی کااحساس آپ کے اوپر اتنا غالب آچکا تھا کہ کوئی دوسری چیز آپ کو اپنی طرف متوجہ کرنے میں کامیاب نہ ہوسکی— کتنا فرق ہے ایک انسان اور دوسرے انسان میں۔
