۞قَالَتۡ رُسُلُهُمۡ أَفِي ٱللَّهِ شَكّٞ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ يَدۡعُوكُمۡ لِيَغۡفِرَ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمۡ وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمۡ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ قَالُوٓاْ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُنَا تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَصُدُّونَا عَمَّا كَانَ يَعۡبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا فَأۡتُونَا بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ
Their messengers said, "Can there be doubt about Allah, Creator of the heavens and earth? He invites you that He may forgive you of your sins, and He delays your death for a specified term." They said, "You are not but men like us who wish to avert us from what our fathers were worshipping. So bring us a clear authority
This verse is related to ancient communities. However, a special characteristic of the Quran is that it presents God’s eternal teachings in such a way as to relate them to both the immediate addressees and to the later generations. The word ‘Originator’ as used here to translate the Arabic word, fatir, does not reflect the original, literal sense of ‘one who tears’. Literally translated, the question would read, ‘Is there any doubt about God who is the tearer of heaven and earth?’ It is important to understand this aspect of the Creator, for this provides a proof of the existence of God in terms of today’s laws of physics. Modern research shows that the matter constituting heaven and earth was initially in the shape of the solid ball known as the super atom. According to the known laws of nature, all its parts were attracted towards its centre with extreme intensity. The present extensive universe came into existence due to the explosion of this super atom. In this verse the word fatir (the Tearer) refers to this universal event—an absolute proof of the existence of a Creator, because the parts of the super atom which were completely attracted inside could not move in an outward direction by themselves. An intervention was required for this. If one accepts that the explosion did take place (that is, the Big Bang) then one must also accept the theory of external intervention. The other name for this intervening power is God.
اس آیت کا تعلق اصلاً قدیم قوموں سے ہے۔ مگر قرآن کی ایک خصوصیت یہ ہے کہ اس میں خدا کی ابدی تعلیمات کو تاریخ کے سانچہ میں ڈھال کر پیش کیاگیا ہے۔ اس لیے قرآن میںایسے الفاظ استعمال كيے جاتے ہیں جن میں مخاطبِ اول کی رعایت کے ساتھ بعد کے انسانوں کی رعایت بھی پوری طرح شامل ہو۔
اس آیت میں ’’فاطر‘‘ کا لفظ اسی کی ایک مثال ہے۔ فاطرکے لفظی معنی ہیں ’’پھاڑنے والا‘‘۔ عمومی مفہوم کے لحاظ سے فاطر کا لفظ یہاں خالق کے معنی میں استعمال ہوا ہے۔ مگراس کا خالص لفظی ترجمہ کیا جائے تو وہ ہوگا— ’’کیا تم کو خدا کے بارہ میں شک ہے جو زمین و آسمان کا پھاڑنے والا ہے‘‘۔
لفظی ترجمہ کے اعتبار سے یہ آیت موجودہ زمانہ میں منکرین خدا کے لیے خدا کے وجود کو ثابت کررہی ہے۔ جدید تحقیقات بتاتی ہیں کہ زمین وآسمان کا مادہ ابتداء ً ایک سالم گولے کی صورت میں تھا۔ جس کو سپر ایٹم کہاجاتاہے۔ معلوم قوانینِ فطرت کے مطابق اس کے تمام اجزاء انتہائی شدت کے ساتھ اندر کی طرف جڑے ہوئے تھے۔ موجودہ وسیع کائنات اسی سپر ایٹم میں انفجار سے وجود میںآئی۔ اس آیت میں فاطر (پھاڑنے والا) کا لفظ اسی کائناتی واقعہ کی طرف اشارہ کررہا ہے جو ایک خالق کے وجود کا قطعی ثبوت ہے۔ کیوں کہ سپر ايٹم کے اجزاء جو مکمل طورپر اندر کی طرف کھنچے ہوئے تھے، ان کو بیرونی سمت میں متحرک کرنا اپنے آپ نہیں ہوسکتا۔ لازم ہے کہ اس کے لیے کسی خارجی مداخلت کو مانا جائے۔ اسی مداخلت کرنے والی طاقت کا دوسرا نام خدا ہے۔
