مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡۖ أَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡ كَرَمَادٍ ٱشۡتَدَّتۡ بِهِ ٱلرِّيحُ فِي يَوۡمٍ عَاصِفٖۖ لَّا يَقۡدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُواْ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَٰلُ ٱلۡبَعِيدُ
The example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error
The people of Arabia who rejected the Prophet Muhammad were those very people who had already accepted God and religion. Then why did they reject him? The reason for this was that in his case Truth was revealed in its abstract form, while they used to consider as true only that which had reached them through their ‘ancestors’. They recognized the religion of their ‘National Heroes’, but failed to recognize the religion of ‘Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah’. Those who find religion under the influence of national traditions make a display of religiosity, but are, in fact, engaged in superficial activities in the name of religion. This has nothing to do with the spirit of the religion. What God requires is real religiousness and not just performance of certain rituals. God approves of a man who has discovered the truth by means of his own mental striving; who has made observations of God in the realm of the unseen; who has recognized truth in its absolute form and supported it; whose soul has bathed in God’s sea; who is restless in God’s love and whose eyes have shed tears with the fear of God. The religiousness of the first type of people is entirely superficial and outward, and of no value in the eyes of God. On the contrary, the religion of the second type of people is the real one. This is imbedded in the innermost recesses of human existence. A study of the universe reveals that its creation is based on realities; in such a universe only good deeds have value and not suppositions and wishful thinking.
عرب کے جن لوگوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا انکار کیا وہ سب خداا ور مذہب کو ماننے والے لوگ تھے۔ پھر کیوں وہ آپ کے منکر بن گئے۔ ا س کی وجہ یہ تھی کہ آپ کی سطح پر حق اپنی مجرد صورت میں ظاہر ہوا تھا۔ جب کہ وہ لوگ صرف اس چیز کو حق سمجھتے تھے جو ان کے قومی بزرگوں کے ذریعہ انھیں ملا ہو۔ انھوںنے اپنے مسلّم قومی بزرگوں کے دین کو پہچانا، مگر وہ ’’محمد بن عبد اللہ‘‘ کے دین کو پہچاننے میں ناکام رہے۔
جو لوگ قومی روایات کے زیرِ اثر دین کو پائیں ان کے یہاں بھی دینی مظاہر موجود ہوتے ہیں۔ بلکہ اکثر ان کے یہاں دین کی دھوم پائی جاتی ہے۔ تاہم یہ سب کچھ محض ظاہری دینداری ہوتی ہے، دین کی اصل حقیقت سے اس کا کوئی تعلق نہیں ہوتا۔ مگر خدا کو جو چیز مطلوب ہے وہ حقیقی دینداری ہے، نہ کہ ظاہری ہنگامے۔
خدا کووہ انسان مطلوب ہے جس نے ذاتی شعور کی سطح پر حق کو پایا ہو۔ جس نے عالم غیب میں خدا کا مشاہدہ کیا ہو۔ جس نے حق کو اس کی مجرد صورت میں پہچانا ہو اور اس کا ساتھ دیا ہو۔ جس کی روح خدا کے سمندر میں نہائی ہو۔ جو خدا کی محبت میں تڑپا ہو اور خدا کے خوف سے جس کی آنکھوں نے آنسو بہائے ہوں۔
پہلی قسم کے لوگوں کی دینداری اوپری دین داری ہے۔ قیامت کی آندھی اس کو اسی طرح اڑا لے جائے گی جس طرح سطحِ زمین کی خس وخاشاک تیز ہوا میں اڑجاتی ہے۔ اس کے برعکس، دوسری قسم کے لوگوں کا دین حقیقی دین ہے۔ وہ انسانی وجود کی آخری گہرا ئی تک پیوست ہوتاہے۔ ایسے وجود کے لیے آندھی صرف اس ليے آتی ہے کہ وہ اس کی مضبوطی کو ثابت کرے، نہ کہ اس کو اکھاڑ لے جائے۔
کائنات کا مطالعہ بتاتا ہے کہ اس کی تخلیق حقائق پر ہوئی ہے۔ ایسی کائنات میں صرف حقیقی عمل کی قیمت ہوسکتی ہے، نہ کہ مفروضوں اور خوش گمانیوں کی۔
