وَأُدۡخِلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِمۡۖ تَحِيَّتُهُمۡ فِيهَا سَلَٰمٌ
And those who believed and did righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein by permission of their Lord; and their greeting therein will be, "Peace
To say assalamu alaykum or ‘peace be with you’ at the time of meeting is not simply a formal social custom. This is in fact an outward symbol of a heartfelt connection. Those who have lived their lives in this world with feelings of benevolence towards others, who have known how to forget their grievances and love others wholeheartedly, who have always spoken of others with respect, who have chosen for others what they desired for themselves, who have always longed in their heart of hearts for the well-being of others and who have rejoiced in seeing others in a state of well-being—such will be the people who will be entitled to take up their abode in the splendid world of paradise. The greeting assalamu alaykum has always given expression to their feelings of love and well-wishing whenever they met their brothers; in the Hereafter, when they greet their heavenly neighbours, this salutation will assume a powerful and more aesthetic form.
ملاقات کے وقت السلام علیکم کہنا محض ایک معاشرتی رسم نہیں۔ یہ قلبی تعلق کی ایک ظاہری علامت ہے۔ دنیا کا السلام علیکم بھی اپنی حقیقت کے اعتبار سے یہی ہے اور آخرت کا السلام علیکم بھی مزید اضافہ کے ساتھ یہی۔
جو لوگ دنیامیں اس طرح رہے کہ ان کے اندر ایک دوسرے کے لیے خیر خواہی کے جذبات بھرے ہوئے تھے۔ جو شکایتوں کو نظر انداز کرکے ایک دوسرے سے محبت کرنا جانتے تھے۔ جو دوسرے کے لیے ہمیشہ وہ الفاظ بولتے تھے جس میں اس کا اعتراف اور احترام شامل ہو۔ جو دوسرے کے لیے وہی چیز پسند کرتے تھے جو اپنےلیے پسند کرتے تھے۔ جن کے سینے میں دوسروں کے لیے سلامتی کے چشمے ابلتے تھے اور جن کی آنکھیں دوسرے کی بھلائی کو دیکھ كر ٹھنڈی ہوتی تھیں۔ یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جو جنت کی نفیس دنیا میں بسائے جانے کے اہل ٹھہریں گے۔ دنیا میں بھی ان کا یہ حال تھا کہ جب وہ اپنے بھائیوں سے ملتے تو ان کے لیے ان کی محبت اور خیر خواہی ’’السلام علیکم‘‘ کی صور ت میں ٹپکتی تھی۔ آخرت میں یہی چیز اور زیادہ لطیف اور خالص بن کر اپنے جنتی پڑوسیوں کے بارے میں ان کی زبانوں سے نکلے گی۔
