أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةٗۖ قُلۡ هَاتُواْ بُرۡهَٰنَكُمۡۖ هَٰذَا ذِكۡرُ مَن مَّعِيَ وَذِكۡرُ مَن قَبۡلِيۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّۖ فَهُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
Or have they taken gods besides Him? Say, [O Muhammad], "Produce your proof. This [Qur'an] is the message for those with me and the message of those before me." But most of them do not know the truth, so they are turning away
The assumption of there being anyone worthy of worship other than God is not based on any real reasoning, but on total ignorance. Those who assign partners to God have no argument in support of their belief—neither is it based on human knowledge nor on divine revelation. On hearing arguments in favour of the oneness of God, they become evasive and turn their backs, not because of the firmness of their belief based on sound reasoning, but purely because of their prejudice. On account of their biased attitude, they have become so rigid in their belief that they are not prepared to give it up, in spite of its being untenable on the basis of reasoning.
ایک خدا کے سوا دوسرے معبود فرض کرنا کسی واقعی دلیل کی بنیاد پر نہیں ہے۔ بلکہ سراسر لاعلمی کی بنیاد پر ہے۔ جو لوگ خدا کے ليے شرکاء مانتے ہیں ان کے پاس اپنے عقیدۂ شرک کے حق میں کوئی دلیل نہیں، نہ علم انسانی میں اور نہ وحی آسمانی میں۔ وہ توحید کے دلائل سن کر ان سے اعراض کرتے ہیں تو اس کی وجہ ان کا استدلالی یقین نہیں ہے بلکہ اس کی وجہ صرف ا ن کا تعصب ہے۔ اپنے متعصبانہ مزاج کی وجہ سے وہ اپنے عقیدہ میں اتنا پختہ ہوگئے ہیں کہ استدلال کے اعتبار سے بے حقیقت ہونے کے باوجود وہ اس کو چھوڑ نے پر راضی نہیں ہوتے۔
