وَنَصَرۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءٖ فَأَغۡرَقۡنَٰهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
And We saved him from the people who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a people of evil, so We drowned them, all together
The Prophet Noah performed his divine task of giving the call for the Truth among his community over an extremely long period, but except for a few individuals, nobody was reformed. At last, Noah prayed for the destruction of his community. Thereupon, such a disastrous flood set in that even the mountain tops could not provide the people with safe havens. Though this incident took place in relation to a prophet, there is solace in this for the common man also. It shows that those who make mischief in this world do not enjoy absolute freedom to do whatever they like, while one who espouses the cause of Truth is not all alone in this world. One who identifies himself with Truth, to the extent that he becomes the representative of Truth in the world, does not remain alone in this life, for God becomes his supporter; and who can overpower one who is supported by God?
حضرت نوح نے انتہائی لمبی مدت تک اپنی قوم کو دعوت دی۔ مگر چند لوگوں کے سوا کسی نے اصلاح قبول نہ کی۔ آخر کار حضرت نوح نے اپنی قوم کی ہلاکت کی دعا کی۔ اس کے بعد ایسا سخت سیلاب آیا کہ پہاڑ کی چوٹیاں بھی لوگوں کو بچانے سے عاجز ہوگئیں۔
یہ واقعہ اگرچہ پیغمبر کی سطح پر پیش آیا۔ تاہم عام انسانوں کے لیے بھی اس میں بہت تسکین کا سامان ہے۔ اس سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ اس دنیا میں بگاڑ پیدا کرنے والے بالکل آزاد نہیں ہیں۔ اور سچائی کے لیے اٹھنے والا شخص بالکل اکیلا نہیں ہے۔ اگر کوئی شخص سچائی سے اس حد تک اپنے آپ کو وابستہ کرے کہ وہ دنیا میں سچائی کا نمائندہ بن جائے تو اس کے بعد وہ دنیا میں اکیلا نہیں رہتا۔ بلکہ خدا اس کے ساتھ ہوجاتا ہے اور جس کے ساتھ خدا ہوجائے اس کو کون زیر کرسکتا ہے۔
