ثُمَّ صَدَقۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡوَعۡدَ فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُمۡ وَمَن نَّشَآءُ وَأَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors
Those who refused to accept the prophethood of the Prophet Muhammad on the grounds that he was a human being like them, were told that if they were sincere and serious in their objection, they should not find it difficult to come to a correct understanding of the truth. The People of the Book, believers in past prophets, could be asked whether these prophets had been human beings or not. If they (the prophets of the past) were human beings, they had no reason to reject the present Prophet solely on the grounds that he was born of human parents, just like any ordinary human being. The history of former prophets reveals that the people’s acceptance or rejection of them was not an ordinary type of acceptance or rejection, in that it led to distinctly different results for the two groups. The acceptors enjoyed salvation, while the rejectors were destroyed. Therefore, this is a matter in which one has to be extremely sincere and serious.
جو لوگ یہ کہہ کہ پیغمبر کا انکار کرتے تھے کہ یہ تو ہماری طرح کے ایک انسان ہیں، ان سے کہاگیا کہ اگر تم اپنے اس اعتراض میں سنجیدہ ہو تو تمھارے لیے معاملہ کو سمجھنا کچھ مشکل نہیں۔ بہت سی گزری ہوئی ہستیاں جن کو تم پیغمبر تسلیم کرتے ہو، ان کے جاننے والے موجود ہیں۔ پھر ان جاننے والوں سے تحقیق کر لو کہ وہ انسان تھے یا غیر انسان اگر وہ انسان تھے تو موجودہ پیغمبر کو تم صرف اس بنا پر کیسے رد کرسکتے ہو کہ وہ ایک ماں باپ کے ذریعہ عام انسان کی طرح پیدا ہوئے ہیں۔
گزشتہ پیغمبروں کی تاریخ یہ بھی بتاتی ہے کہ ان کا اقرار یا انکار لوگوں کے لیے محض سادہ قسم کا اقرار یا انکار نہ تھا۔ اس نے دونوں گروہوں کے لیے واضح طورپر الگ الگ نتیجہ پیدا کیا۔ اقرار کرنے والوں نے نجات پائی اور انکار کرنے والے ہلاک کردئے گئے۔ اس لیے اس معاملہ میں تم کو حد درجہ سنجیدہ ہونا چاہیے۔
