وَٱلَّتِيٓ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا وَٱبۡنَهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity, so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds
The special quality of Mary (Maryam) is said to be that she guarded her chastity. By way of a reward for this, she was made the mother of a prophet who was born by a direct miracle of God. This is true of common men and women also. Everybody is being tried in this world by being required to keep his urges and desires under control. The more an individual shows self-discipline on this score, the more he will share in God’s special blessings.
حضرت مریم کی صفت خاص یہ بتائی گئی ہے کہ انھوں نے اپنی شہوت کو قابو میں رکھا۔ اس کا انھیں یہ انعام ملا کہ وہ اس پیغمبر کی ماں بنائی گئیں جو براہ راست معجزۂ خداوندی کے تحت پیدا ہوا۔
یہی بات عام مردوں اور عورتوں کے لیے بھی صحیح ہے۔ ہر ایک کا امتحان موجودہ دنیا میں یہ ہے کہ وہ اپنی شہوتوں اور خواہشوں کو قابو میں رکھے۔ جو شخص جتنا زیادہ اس ضبط کا ثبوت دے گا اسی کے بقدر وہ خدا کی خصوصی عنایتوں میں حصہ دار بنے گا۔
