أَوۡ كَظُلُمَٰتٖ فِي بَحۡرٖ لُّجِّيّٖ يَغۡشَىٰهُ مَوۡجٞ مِّن فَوۡقِهِۦ مَوۡجٞ مِّن فَوۡقِهِۦ سَحَابٞۚ ظُلُمَٰتُۢ بَعۡضُهَا فَوۡقَ بَعۡضٍ إِذَآ أَخۡرَجَ يَدَهُۥ لَمۡ يَكَدۡ يَرَىٰهَاۗ وَمَن لَّمۡ يَجۡعَلِ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ نُورٗا فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن نُّورٍ
Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea which is covered by waves, upon which are waves, over which are clouds - darknesses, some of them upon others. When one puts out his hand [therein], he can hardly see it. And he to whom Allah has not granted light - for him there is no light
In stark contrast to the person who revives his inner natural urge and consequently is blessed with the wealth of faith, there exists the other type whose ‘oil’ does not become ignited by the fire of Truth. Of the second type, are those who follow a concocted religion. They build a palace of false hopes and are happy in it. Thus they live with their misconceptions till they are overtaken by death, which suddenly dispels the magical spell of their misconceptions. They then realise that what they thought of as their goal until now, was nothing but a pit of destruction. Another category consists of open rebels and rejecters of Truth. Disregarding God’s guidance, they become utter failures and grope in the dark forever.
انسانوں کی ایک قسم وہ ہے جس کا ذکر آیت

میں تھا۔ یہ وہ انسان ہے جو اپنی فطری استعداد کو زندہ رکھتا ہے اور اس کے نتیجے میں ایمان کی دولت سے سرفراز ہوتا ہے۔ اب آیت
39-40
میںانسانوں کی مزید دو قسموں کا ذکر ہے۔ یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جن کا تیل دعوتِ حق کی آگ سے بھڑکنے کے ليے تیار نہیں ہوتا۔
ایک قسم وہ ہے جو کسی خود ساختہ دین پر قائم رہتی ہے۔ وہ جھوٹی تمناؤں کا ایک محل بناکر اس میں خوش رہتی ہے۔ یہ لوگ اسی طرح خوش گمانیوں میں پڑے رہتے ہیں۔ یہاں تک کہ جب موت آتی ہے تو ان کی خوش گمانیوں کا طلسم ٹوٹ جاتا ہے۔ اور پھر اچانک انھیں معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ جس چیز کو وہ منزل سمجھے ہوئے تھے وہ ہلاکت کے گڑھے کے سوا اور کچھ نہ تھی۔
دوسری قسم وہ ہے جو کھلم کھلا منکروں اور باغیوں کی ہے۔ یہ لوگ خدا کی ہدایت کو چھوڑ کر بطور خود ہدایت وضع کرنے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں۔ مگر وہ سراسر ناکام رہتے ہیں۔ کیوں کہ اس دنیا میں ہدایت دینے والا خدا کے سوا اور کوئی نہیں۔ خدا کو چھوڑنے کے بعد آدمی کے حصہ میں اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں رہتا کہ وہ ابدی طورپر اندھیرے میں بھٹکتا رہے۔
