أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُزۡجِي سَحَابٗا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَيۡنَهُۥ ثُمَّ يَجۡعَلُهُۥ رُكَامٗا فَتَرَى ٱلۡوَدۡقَ يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ خِلَٰلِهِۦ وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن جِبَالٖ فِيهَا مِنۢ بَرَدٖ فَيُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَصۡرِفُهُۥ عَن مَّن يَشَآءُۖ يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرۡقِهِۦ يَذۡهَبُ بِٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرِ
Do you not see that Allah drives clouds? Then He brings them together, then He makes them into a mass, and you see the rain emerge from within it. And He sends down from the sky, mountains [of clouds] within which is hail, and He strikes with it whom He wills and averts it from whom He wills. The flash of its lightening almost takes away the eyesight
Events of the physical world give direct introduction of the Creator, but only to those who possess insight. Rain for example, results after a series of events that comprise the rain cycle. The lightning and thunder, and the succession of day and night are likewise miraculous phenomena. On seeing such occurences an insightful man mentally journeys to reach beyond external appearances to grasp the higher, innate reality of things. This is called ‘ibrah, meaning ‘to traverse’.
مکہ کے لوگ اس زمانہ میں عرب کے قائد سمجھے جاتے تھے۔ یہ قیادت ان کے ليے خدا کی ایک نعمت تھی۔ مگر اس سے انھوں نے کبر کی غذا لی۔ چنانچہ محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زبان سے حق کا اعلان ہوا تو انھوںنے اپنی متکبرانہ نفسیات کی بنا پر اس کا انکار کردیا۔
یہ مکہ میں اسلام کا حال تھا۔ مگر باہر کي عوام جو اس قسم کی نفسیاتی پیچیدگیوں میں مبتلا نہ تھي ان کے اندر اسلام کی صداقت پھیلتی جارہی تھی۔ مکہ میں اسلام کو رد کردیا گیا تھا مگر باہر کے قبائل میں اسلام کو اختیار کیا جارہا تھا۔ مدینہ کے باشندوں کے بڑے پیمانے پر قبولِ اسلام نے یہ بات آخری طورپر واضح کردی کہ مکہ كے لوگوں کی قیادت کا دائرہ سمٹتا جارہا ہے۔ یہ ایک کھلی ہوئی تنبیہ تھی۔ مگر جو لوگ بڑائی کی نفسیات میں مبتلا ہوں وہ کسی بھی تنبیہ سے سبق لینے والے نہیں بنتے۔
