ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا بَعۡدُ ٱلۡبَاقِينَ
Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones
Noah strove for centuries so that his community could realize the truth, but they refused to accept it. The moral debasement of his people had reached its acme and the disbelievers now threatened Noah either to stop preaching or be stoned to death. Noah then prayed to God to judge decisively between him and the disbelievers. His prayer was answered. At God’s behest, Noah constructed a large boat, in which all his companions and the male and female counterparts of each animal species were accommodated. Thereafter, God sent a severe storm; water gushed out of the earth, and there was a heavy downpour of rain from the skies. All the living creatures, except those on the boat, were destroyed. This historical example is an embodiment of the fact that while true believers would remain protected, all others would face destruction.
حضرت نوح صدیوں تک اپنی قوم کے لوگوں کو حق کی طرف بلاتے رہے۔ مگر انھوںنے آپ کی بات نہ مانی۔ حتی کہ آخر کار انھوں نے فیصلہ کیا کہ سب لوگ مل کر نوح کو پتھر ماریں، یہاں تک کہ وہ ہلاک ہوجائیں اور پھر صبح وشام ان کی بات سننے سے نجات مل جائے۔ جب قوم اس حد کو پہنچ گئی تو اللہ تعالیٰ کا فیصلہ ہوا کہ اب اس قوم کا خاتمہ کردیا جائے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ کا یہی فیصلہ ہے جو حضرت نوح کی دعا کی شکل میں ظاہر ہوا۔
اللہ کے حکم سے حضرت نوح نے ایک بڑی کشتی بنائی، اس میں حضرت نوح کے تمام ساتھی اور ہر قسم کے جانوروں کا ایک ایک جوڑا رکھ لیا گیا۔ اس کےبعد اللہ نے شدید طوفان بھیجا۔ زمین سےپانی ابلنے لگا اور اوپر سے مسلسل بارش ہونے لگی۔ یہاں تک کہ کشتی کے سوا ساری زندہ مخلوق فنا ہوگئی۔ یہ ایک تاریخی مثال ہے جس سے ظاہر ہوتا ہے کہ اس دنیا میں نجات سچے اہل ایمان کے ليے ہے اور باقی لوگوں کے ليے یہاں ہلاکت کے سوا کچھ اور مقدر نہیں۔
