قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٍ عِندِيٓۚ أَوَلَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ أَهۡلَكَ مِن قَبۡلِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ مَنۡ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُ قُوَّةٗ وَأَكۡثَرُ جَمۡعٗاۚ وَلَا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
He said, "I was only given it because of knowledge I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked
The character of Korah described here is the same as is invariably found in men of wealth. A wealthy man thinks that whatever he has acquired is thanks to his own talents. But with all his knowledge, the rich man never stops to wonder how his wealth is going to save him in this ephemeral world from the same fate as all his rich predecessors met with—namely death and destruction.
قارون کا جو کرداریہاں بیان ہوا ہے یہی ہمیشہ صاحبانِ دولت کاکردار رہا ہے۔ دولت مند آدمی سمجھتا ہے کہ اس کو جو کچھ ملا ہے وہ اس کے علم کی بدولت ملا ہے۔ مگر کسی دولت مند کا علم اس کو یہ نہیں بتاتا کہ تم سے پہلے بھی بہت سے لوگوں کو دولت ملی مگر ان کی دولت انھیں موت یا ہلاکت سے نہ بچا سکی۔ پھر تم کو وہ کس طرح بچانے والی ثابت ہوگی۔
