وَوَصَّيۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ حُسۡنٗاۖ وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشۡرِكَ بِي مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٞ فَلَا تُطِعۡهُمَآۚ إِلَيَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do
Of all the creatures, a man’s parents have the greatest right over him. But, just as everything has a limit, so also do the parent’s rights have a limit, in the sense that—according to the Prophet’s tradition—‘no obedience may be shown to any creature if it means disobedience to the Creator.’ The rights of parents must be observed, but only so long as they do not clash with the rights of God. The moment a parent’s order clashes with God’s order, it becomes as necessary at that time not to follow his or her order as it is necessary to follow his or her order in ordinary circumstances. In Islam the rights of parents means service being due to them, but not worship.
انسان پر تمام مخلوقات میں سب سے زیادہ جس کا حق ہے وہ اس کے ماں باپ ہیں مگر ہر چیز کی ایک حد ہوتی ہے، اسی طرح ماں باپ کے حقوق کی بھی ایک حد ہے۔ اور حدیث کے الفاظ میں وہ حد یہ ہے کہ خالق کی نافرمانی میں کسی مخلوق کی اطاعت نہیں (لَا طَاعَةَ لِمَخْلُوقٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ الْخَالِقِ) المعجم الکبیر للطبرانی، حدیث نمبر

ماں باپ کے حقوق اسی وقت تک قابل لحاظ ہیں جب تک وہ خدا کے حقوق سے نہ ٹکرائیں۔ ماں باپ کا حکم جب خدا کے حکم سے ٹکرانے لگے تو اس وقت ماں باپ کا حکم نہ ماننا اتنا ہی ضروری ہوجائے گا جتنا عام حالات میں ماں باپ کا حکم ماننا ضروری ہوتاہے۔ اسلام میں ماں باپ کے حقوق سے مراد ماں باپ کی خدمت ہے، نہ کہ ماں باپ کی عبادت۔
