وَلَقَدۡ صَدَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَعۡدَهُۥٓ إِذۡ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذۡنِهِۦۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَشِلۡتُمۡ وَتَنَٰزَعۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِ وَعَصَيۡتُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَآ أَرَىٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَۚ مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَۚ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمۡ عَنۡهُمۡ لِيَبۡتَلِيَكُمۡۖ وَلَقَدۡ عَفَا عَنكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضۡلٍ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
And Allah had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing the enemy by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then he turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allah is the possessor of bounty for the believers
When believers show steadfastness at crucial moments, God sends His special succour, that is, He strikes terror into the hearts of those who deny the truth. Any person or group who adheres to anything other than the true divine religion is standing in fact on quicksand. For, there is no other real base to build on in this world except the truth revealed by God. As such, whenever one has proved to be standing firmly on the ground of God’s religion, the ranks of those who deny the truth begin to show signs of disarray. Lacking sound arguments, those who deny the truth, unlike the believers, suffer from feelings of uncertainty and inferiority. This lack of conviction finally leads to their downfall. They are ultimately defeated at the hands of true believers. But in the case of the Muslims, their weakness and defeat are traceable solely to their disunity arising from dissension. Yet unity cannot come about in a society solely on the basis of uniformity of opinion. It takes united action also, even in the face of divisive opinions, to ensure total cohesiveness within a community. Only when a community thinks on this level can it remain united and powerful. When people start breaking up into factions, just because of disagreements, the resulting weakness will most certainly lead to defeat.
جنگ احد میں وقتی شکست سے مخالفوں کو موقع ملا۔ انھوںنے کہنا شروع کیا کہ پیغمبر اور ان کے ساتھیوں کا معاملہ کوئی خدائی معاملہ نہیں ہے۔ کچھ لوگ محض طفلانہ جوش کے تحت اٹھ کھڑے ہوئے ہیں اور اپنے جوش کی سزا بھگت رہے ہیں۔ اگر یہ خدائی معاملہ ہوتا تو ان کو اپنے دشمنوں کے مقابلہ میں شکست کیوں ہوتی۔ مگر اس طرح کے واقعات خواہ بظاہر مسلمانوں کی غلطی سے پیش آئیں، وہ ہر حال میں خدا کا امتحان ہوتے ہیں۔ دنیا کی زندگی میں ’’احد‘‘ کا حادثہ پیش آنا ضروری ہے تاکہ یہ کھل جائے کہ کون اللہ پر اعتماد کرنے والا تھا اور کون پھسل جانے والا۔ اس قسم کے واقعات مومن کے لیے دو طرفہ آزمائش ہوتے ہیں۔ ایک یہ کہ وہ لوگوں کی مخالفانہ باتوں سے متاثر نہ ہو۔ دوسرے یہ کہ وہ وقتی تکلیف سے گھبرا نہ جائے، اور ہر حال میں ثابت قدم رہے۔
مشکل مواقع پر اہل ایمان اگر جمے رہ جائیں تو بہت جلد ایسا ہوتا ہے کہ خدا کی نصرتِ رعب نازل ہوتی ہے، جو شخص یا گروہ اللہ کے سچے دین کے سوا کسی اور چیز کے اوپر کھڑا ہوا ہے وہ حقیقۃً بے بنیاد زمین پر کھڑا ہوا ہے۔ کیوں کہ اللہ کی اتاری ہوئی سچائی کے سوا اس دنیا میں کوئی اور حقیقی بنیاد نہیں۔ اس لیے جب کوئی دین خدا وندی کے اوپر کھڑا ہو اور جماؤ کا ثبوت دے تو جلد ہی ایسا ہوتا ہے کہ اہل باطل کی صفوںمیں انتشار شروع ہوجاتا ہے۔ دلائل کے اعتبار سے ان کا بے بنیاد ہونا ان کے افراد میں بے یقینی کی کیفیت پیدا کردیتا ہے۔ وہ اپنے کو کم اور اہل ایمان کو زیادہ دیکھنے لگتے ہیں۔ ان کی ذہنی شکست بالآخر عملی شکست تک پہنچتی ہے۔ وہ اہلِ حق کے مقابلہ میں ناکام ونامراد ہو کر رہ جاتے ہیں۔
مسلمانوں کے لیے شکست اور کمزوری کا سبب ہمیشہ ایک ہوتا ہے، اور وہ ہے تنازع فی الامر۔ یعنی رایوں کے اختلاف کی بنا پر الگ ہوجانا۔ انسانوں کے درمیان اتفاق کبھی اس معنی میں نہیں ہوسکتا کہ سب کی رائیں بالکل ایک ہوجائیں۔ اس لیے کسی گروہ میں اتحاد کی صورت صرف یہ ہے کہ رایوں میں اختلاف کے باوجود عمل میں اختلاف نہ کیا جائے۔ جب تک کسی گروہ میں یہ بلند نظری پائی جائے گی وہ متحد اور نتیجتاً طاقت ور رہے گا۔ اور جب رایوں کا اختلاف کرکے لوگ الگ الگ ہونے لگیں تو اس کے بعد لازماً کمزوری اور اس کے نتیجہ میں شکست واقع ہوگی۔
