تَنزِيلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهِ مِن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
[This is] the revelation of the Book about which there is no doubt from the Lord of the worlds
On the face of it, this is an ordinary statement consisting of just a few words. But this is a very serious and portentous claim, which in the entire history of religion, nobody has had the courage to profess, except those chosen few to whom the Book of God was in actuality revealed. Other than the appointed person, anyone who mustered the audacity to utter these words, was either a trifler or a madman. The Quran is a proof in itself. Its miraculous style, its claims that have not been proved wrong even after centuries have elapsed,—all these and similar considerations prove that it is a book sent by God. And since it is a book of God, it is absolutely necessary that everybody should pay heed to its warnings and gives serious thought to them.
’’یہ خدا کی کتاب ہے‘‘— بظاہر چند الفاظ کا ایک جملہ ہے۔ مگر یہ اتنا مشکل جملہ ہے کہ تاریخ میں یہ جملہ کہنے کی ہمت حقیقی طورپر ان خاص افرادکے سوا کسی کونہ ہوسکی جن پر واقعۃً خدا کی کتاب اتری تھی۔ اگر کبھی کسی اور شخص نے یہ جملہ بولنے کی جرأت کی ہے تو وہ یا تو مسخرہ تھا یا پاگل۔ اور اس کا مسخرہ یا پاگل ہونا بعد کو پوری طرح ثابت ہوگیا۔
قرآن اپنا ثبوت آپ ہے۔ اس کا معجزاتی اسلوب، اس کی کسی بات کا سیکڑوں سال میں غلط ثابت نہ ہونا، اس کا اپنے مخالفین پر پوری طرح غالب آنا، یہ اور اس طرح کے دوسرے واقعا ت اس بات کا قطعی ثبوت ہیں کہ قرآن خدا کی طرف سے آئی ہوئی کتاب ہے۔ اور جب وہ خدا کی کتاب ہے تو لازم ہے کہ ہر شخص اس کی چیتاونی پر دھیان دے، وہ انتہائی سنجیدگی کے ساتھ اس پر غور کرے۔
