قُلۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَتۡحِ لَا يَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِيمَٰنُهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنظَرُونَ
Say, [O Muhammad], "On the Day of Conquest the belief of those who had disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be reprieved
In ancient Makkah the polytheists were dominant, while Islam was in a very weak position, so much so that the polytheists used to ridicule Islam and Muslims. In response to this, Almighty God has given an example: He asks people to consider a land which is dry and barren. To all appearances, it seems impossible that it will ever become covered with greenery. But, God causes the clouds to pour rain-water on it. In a few days time, the dry land is replaced with lush green fields. Similarly, God’s powers can cause Islam to flourish and become the predominant ideology of the world.
قدیم مکہ میں مشرکین ہر اعتبار سے غالب اور سر بلند تھے اور اسلام ہر اعتبار سے پست اور مغلوب ہورہا تھا۔ چنانچہ مشرکین اسلام اور مسلمانوں کا مذاق اڑاتے تھے۔ اس کا جواب اللہ تعالیٰ نے ایک مثال کے ذریعہ دیا۔فرمایا، کیا تم خدا کی اس قدرت کو نہیں دیکھتے کہ ایک زمین بالکل خشک اور چٹیل پڑی ہوتی ہے۔ بظاہریہ ناممکن ہوتا ہے کہ وہ کبھی سرسبزوشاداب ہوسکے گی۔ مگراس کے بعد خدا بادلوں کو لاکر اس کے اوپر بارش برساتا ہے تو چند دن میں یہ حال ہوجاتا ہے کہ جہاں خاک اڑ رہی تھی وہاں سبزہ لہلہانے لگتاہے۔ خدا کی یہی قدرت یہ بھی کرسکتی ہے کہ اسلام کو اس طرح فروغ دے کہ وہی وقت کا غالب فکر بن جائے۔
