قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ لِي وَهَبۡ لِي مُلۡكٗا لَّا يَنۢبَغِي لِأَحَدٖ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِيٓۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ
He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower
Every human being is liable to err. But, for the pious and righteous subjects of God, a wrongful act leads to great virtue, because after the misdeed, they turn towards their Lord with much more devotion and thus become entitled to a much better reward. On one occasion, Solomon made an error in judgement which required an interpretation and making a decision. When the truth dawned on him, he turned towards God with the utmost devotion. Almighty God forgave him and in addition gave him the reward of a great empire; He also gave him such extraordinary powers as no other man had ever enjoyed.
ہر انسان سے کوتاہی ہوتی ہے۔ مگر خدا کے نیک بندوں کےلیے کوتاہی ایک عظیم بھلائی بن جاتی ہے کیونکہ وہ کوتاہی کے بعد اور زیادہ خشوع کے ساتھ اپنے رب کی طرف پلٹتے ہیں اور پھر اور زیادہ انعام کے مستحق قرار پاتے ہیں۔
حضرت سلیمان علیہ السلام سے بھی ایک موقع پر کوئی اجتہادی انداز کی کوتاہی ہوگئی۔ جب آپ پر حقیقت واضح ہوئی تو آپ شدیداِنابت کے ساتھ اللہ کی طرف متوجہ ہوگئے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ سے درگزر فرمایا اور مزید یہ انعام کیا کہ آپ کو عظیم سلطنت عطا فرمائی اور آپ کو ایسے غیر معمولی اختیارات دئے جو کسی اور انسان کو حاصل نہیں ہوئے۔
