وَإِن مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ إِلَّا لَيُؤۡمِنَنَّ بِهِۦ قَبۡلَ مَوۡتِهِۦۖ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ يَكُونُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ شَهِيدٗا
And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in Jesus before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness
When a group opts for a self-styled religion instead of the divine religion, it decides upon certain self-styled signs to show its religious status. According to the temperament and circumstances of its members, it formulates new rules about what is lawful and what is unlawful, and by sedulously observing them, it shows that it adheres to religion more than others do. The religion of such people is based on excessive care for certain outward forms, as opposed to paying proper attention to the spirit of the religion’s rules. By fully observing the form they are completely satisfied that they have been following their religion to the letter. Such so-called adherents of religion are not afraid of deriving worldly benefits from the ways forbidden by God and they are not afraid of putting obstacles in the path of the divine caller. Such people will be bracketted with the patently irreligious, far from being grouped along with truly religious people. There were certain people among the Jews, like ‘Abdullah ibn Salam, who believed in the Prophet Muhammad and fully supported him. Those who are not caught up in human interpolations in their religion; who have discovered the original divine religion; who have risen above the mentality of prejudice, blind imitation of their community’s ways and opportunism, find no obstacle to their recognizing the truth and surrendering themselves to it. They can see the truth despite all kinds of mental blocks. These are the people who will be ushered into the Paradise God has prepared for them.

۔ یہود ونصاري كے پاس آسمانی علم تھا۔ ایسے لوگ یہ سمجھنے میں غلطی نہیں کرسکتے تھے کہ پیغمبر عربی کی دعوت خالص خدائی دعوت ہے۔ مگر پیغمبر عربی کو ماننا اور ان کے مشن میں اپنا مال اور اپنی زندگی لگانا ان کو دنیوی مصلحتوں کے خلاف نظر آتا تھا۔ اس بنا پر انھوں نے آپ کا ساتھ دینے سے انکار کردیا۔ مگر جب موت آدمی کے سامنے آتی ہے تو اس قسم کی تمام مصلحتیں باطل ہوتی ہوئی نظر آنے لگتی ہیں۔ اس وقت آدمی کے ذہن سے تمام مصنوعی پردے ہٹ جاتے ہیں اور حق اپنی کھلی صورت میں سامنے آجاتا ہے۔ موت کے دروازے پر پہنچ کر آدمی اس چیز کا اقرار کرلیتاہے جس کو وہ موت سے پہلے ماننے کے لیے تیار نہ تھا۔ مگر اس وقت کے اقرار کی اللہ کی نظر میں کوئی قیمت نہیں۔
جب کوئی گروہ خدائی دین کے بجائے خود ساختہ دین کو اختیار کرتا ہے تو وہ اپنی دینی حیثیت کو ظاہر کرنے کے لیے کچھ خود ساختہ نشانات بھی قائم کرتا ہے۔ وہ اپنے مزاج اور اپنے حالات کے لحاظ سے حرام وحلال کے نئے قاعدے بناتا ہے اور ان کا خصوصی اہتمام کرکے ثابت کرنا چاہتا ہے کہ وہ دوسروں سے زیادہ دین پر قائم ہے۔ ایسے لوگوں کا دین بعض ظاہری چیزوں کے اہتمام پر مبنی ہوتا ہے، نہ کہ اللہ والا بننے پر۔ چنانچہ وہ اس سے نہیں ڈرتے کہ اللہ کے منع كيے ہوئے طریقوں سے دنیوی فائدے حاصل کریں اور اللہ کے لیے ہونے والے کام کا راستہ روکیں۔ ایسے لوگوں کا انجام اللہ کے یہاں بے دینوں کے ساتھ ہوگا، نہ کہ دین داروں کے ساتھ۔
یہودیوں میں چند لوگ، عبد اللہ بن سلّام وغیرہ، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر ایمان لائے اور آپ کا ساتھ دیا۔ جو لوگ انسانی اضافوں سے گزر کر اصلی آسمانی دین سے آشنا ہوتے ہیں، جو عصبیت اور تقلید اور مفاد پرستی کی ذہنیت سے آزاد ہوتے ہیں ان کو سچائی کو سمجھنے اور اپنے آپ کو اس کے حوالے کرنے میں کوئی چیز رکاوٹ نہیں بنتی۔ وہ ہر قسم کے ذہنی خول سے باہر آکر سچائی کو دیکھ لیتے ہیں۔ یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جو اللہ کی جنتوں میں داخل كيے جائیں گے۔
