إِذۡ جَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلۡحَمِيَّةَ حَمِيَّةَ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِيَّةِ فَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَعَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَأَلۡزَمَهُمۡ كَلِمَةَ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ وَكَانُوٓاْ أَحَقَّ بِهَا وَأَهۡلَهَاۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٗا
When those who disbelieved had put into their hearts chauvinism - the chauvinism of the time of ignorance. But Allah sent down His tranquillity upon His Messenger and upon the believers and imposed upon them the word of righteousness, and they were more deserving of it and worthy of it. And ever is Allah, of all things, Knowing
From the heart of a man in which the fear of God is firmly embedded, the importance of everything other than God is driven out. He sets God above everything else in life. The occasion of Hudaybiyyah severely tested the companions, but they acquitted themselves well. On this occasion the opposite party had demonstrated brazen obstinacy and communal bias, but the companions simply reposed their trust in God. Their righteousness prevented them from obdurate retaliation and prejudice during this crucial trial period. Till the very end, they did not allow themselves to be provoked.
جس آدمی کے اندر اللہ کا ڈر پیدا ہوجائے اس کے دل سے ایک اللہ کے سوا ہر دوسری چیز کی اہمیت نکل جاتی ہے۔ وہ صرف ایک اللہ کو ساری اہمیت دینے لگتا ہے۔ حدیبیہ کا موقع صحابہ کے لیے اسی قسم کا ایک شدید امتحان تھا جس میں وہ پورے اترے۔ اس موقع پر فریق ِثانی نے جاہلانہ ضد اور اور قومی عصبیت کا زبردست مظاہرہ کیا۔ مگر صحابہ ہر چیز کو خدا کے خانہ میں ڈالتے چلے گئے۔ ان کے متقیانہ مزاج نے ان کو اس سخت امتحان میں جوابی ضد اور جوابی عصبیت سے بچایا۔ وہ مسلسل اشتعال انگیزی کے باوجود آخر وقت تک مشتعل نہیں ہوئے۔
