إِنَّمَا يَنۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ قَٰتَلُوكُمۡ فِي ٱلدِّينِ وَأَخۡرَجُوكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمۡ وَظَٰهَرُواْ عَلَىٰٓ إِخۡرَاجِكُمۡ أَن تَوَلَّوۡهُمۡۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُمۡ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion - [forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers
As far as justice and fair play are concerned, they will be given to everybody–whether friend or foe. But having friendships with those who are at war with one is not proper.
جہاں تک عدل و انصاف کا تعلق ہے وہ ہر ایک سے کیا جائے گا، خواہ فریق ثانی دشمن ہو یا غیر دشمن۔ مگر دوستی کا تعلق ہر ایک سے درست نہیں۔ دوستی صرف اسی کے ساتھ جائز ہے جو اللہ کا دوست ہو یا کم از کم یہ کہ وہ اللہ کا دشمن نہ ہو۔
