۞وَإِن جَنَحُواْ لِلسَّلۡمِ فَٱجۡنَحۡ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing
Islam relies not on the use of force but on the demonstration of force to inspire awe in the enemy. That is why the believers were commanded to equip themselves with power so that the enemy might be demoralized and refrain from aggression. Those who spend their resources in strengthening Islam intellectually and materially will be rewarded many times over by their Lord. The secret of success in Islam does not lie in military confrontation but in the preaching of its principles—hence the command that whenever there is an offer of peace by the other party, it should be accepted, setting aside every doubt or suspicion, because doubt or suspicion is in any case an uncertain thing, but the benefit of a cease-fire is certain: it permits the dawah work of Islam to start in a peaceful atmosphere. The stoppage of war thus facilitates the ideological expansion of Islam. Islam in itself is the greatest power. If the belief in God and the Hereafter is engendered in a group, then all those psychological drawbacks which cause differences and clashes are driven out of them. Thereafter, it necessarily happens that all of them join together and become one, and it is a fact that the greatest strength lies in unity. A united group, though small, will overcome a group larger than itself. Mutual integration is the most difficult task. The sign of a divinely—aided group is that its members are united; nothing succeeds in disuniting them.
اسلام کا اعتماد استعمال قوت سے زیادہ مظاہرۂ قوت پر ہے۔ اسی ليے اہل اسلام کو قوت مُرہبہ فراہم کرنے کا حکم دیاگیا ، یعنی وہ چیزیں جو حریف کو اس قدر مرعوب کریں کہ وہ اقدام کا حوصلہ کھو دے۔ اسلام وقت کے معیار کے مطابق اپنے کو طاقت ور بناتا ہے، مگر لازماً لڑنے کے ليے نہیں۔ بلکہ اس ليے تاکہ اس کے دشمنوں پر اس کی دھاک قائم رہے اور وہ اس کے خلاف جارحانہ کارروائی کی ہمت نہ کریں۔ اسلام كو وقت کے معیار کے مطابق فكري اور عملی اعتبار سے طاقت ور بنانے میں جو لوگ اپنی کمائی خرچ کریں گے وہ کئی گناہ زیادہ مقدار میں اس کا بدلہ اپنے رب کے یہاں پائیںگے۔
اسلام کی فتح کا راز اصلاً جنگی مقابلوں میں نہیں بلکہ اس کے اصولوں کی تبلیغ میں ہے۔ اس ليے حکم ہوا کہ جب بھی فریق ثانی صلح کی پیش کش کرے تو ہر اندیشہ کو نظر انداز کرتے ہوئے اس کو قبول کرلو۔ کیوں کہ اندیشہ بہر حال یقینی نہیں اور جنگ بندی کا یہ فائدہ یقینی ہے کہ پُرامن فضا میںاسلام کا دعوتی عمل شروع ہو جائے اور اس طرح جنگ کا رکنا اسلام کی نظریاتی توسیع کا سبب بن جائے۔
اسلام خود اپنی ذا ت میں سب سے بڑی طاقت ہے۔ خدا اور آخرت کا عقیدہ اگر پوری طرح کسی گروہ کے افراد میں پیدا ہوجائے تو ان کے اندر سے وہ تمام نفسیاتی خرابیاں نکل جاتی ہیں جو نااتفاقی اور باہمی ٹکراؤ کا باعث ہوتی ہیں۔ اس کے بعد لازماً ایسا ہوتاہے کہ وہ سب کے سب باہم جڑ کر ایک ہوجاتے ہیں اور یہ ایک حقیقت ہے کہ اتحاد سب سے بڑی طاقت ہے۔ متحد گروہ اگر تعداد میں کم ہو تب بھی وہ اپنے سے زیادہ تعداد رکھنے والے گروہ پر غالب آجائے گا۔
باہمی اتفاق سب سے زیادہ مشکل چیز ہے۔ کسی گروہ کی نصرت یافتہ ہونے کی ایک پہچان یہ ہے کہ اس کے افراد باہم متحد رہیں، کوئی بھی چیز ان کے اتحاد کو توڑنے والی ثابت نہ ہو۔
