1وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِBy the sky and the night comer2وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُAnd what can make you know what is the night comer3ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُIt is the piercing star4إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞThere is no soul but that it has over it a protector5فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَSo let man observe from what he was created6خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٖ دَافِقٖHe was created from a fluid, ejected7يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِEmerging from between the backbone and the ribs8إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٞIndeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able9يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُThe Day when secrets will be put on trial10فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٖ وَلَا نَاصِرٖThen man will have no power or any helper11وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِBy the sky which returns [rain]12وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِAnd [by] the earth which cracks open13إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞIndeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement14وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِAnd it is not amusement15إِنَّهُمۡ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدٗاIndeed, they are planning a plan16وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدٗاBut I am planning a plan17فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢاSo allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile
