Maulana says that, according to the hadith, right after death a person comes face to face with his outcome—paradise or hell.84:01 He explains that the word “grave” in that hadith is symbolic, not a literal pit.84:49 He says this is a matter of time and space: the afterlife is beyond time and space, so we cannot reason it out, only accept it by faith.63:33 After death, the time-and-place framework of this world ends, and for that person comfort or suffering, paradise or hell, is all present.62:36 He describes this world as a test of how people use their freedom.28:53 Then, on the basis of that moral record, the reckoning takes place in the world after death.29:30
