وَٱللَّهُ أَخۡرَجَكُم مِّنۢ بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ
And Allah has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and intellect that perhaps you would be grateful
When a human being is born, he is already the possessor of eyes, ears, and a brain, yet he is quite helpless and totally dependent on others. He might possibly—under a different scheme of things—have been born with the ability to use his wonderful faculties of seeing, hearing and thinking in the way that an adult would. But if things did not happen in this way, it was by design. Man was meant to experience his own helplessness as a baby and then to appreciate his mental and physical growth through adolescence to maturity as a gift from God. This process was meant to engender in him feelings of gratitude and a deep sense of obligation to his Maker. But such feelings emerge only when a man utilizes his God-given capacities in the right manner. His eyes, ears and heart should not be so attracted to worldly, ephemeral glamour that these may stop one from penetrating the realms of the unseen.
انسان جب پیدا ہوتا ہے تو وہ بالکل عاجز اور بے سمجھ بچہ ہوتاہے۔ مگر بڑا ہو کر وہ ان حیرت انگیز قوتوں کا مالک بن جاتا ہے جن کو کان اور آنکھ اور عقل کہتے ہیں۔ یہ بھی ممکن تھا کہ آدمی جس روز پیدا ہو اسی روز اس کے اندر وہ تمام صلاحیتیں موجود ہوں جو بڑی عمر کو پہنچ کر اس کے اندر پیدا ہوتی ہیں۔
مگر ایسا نہیں کیا گیا۔ صرف اس لیے کہ انسان کے اندر شکر کا جذبہ پیدا ہو۔ اوّلاً وہ اپنی ابتدائی بے بسی کی حالت کو دیکھے اور پھر یہ دیکھے کہ بعد کوکس طرح وہ ایک ترقی یافتہ حالت کو پہنچ گیا ہے۔ یہ دیکھ کر وہ خدا کی ملی ہوئی نعمت کا احساس کرے اور خدا کی احسان مندی کے جذبہ سے سرشار ہوجائے۔
کسی آدمی کے اندر یہ کیفیت صرف اس وقت پیدا ہوسکتی ہے جب کہ وہ خدا کی دی ہوئی قوتوں کو صحیح طورپر استعمال کرے۔ اس کے کان اور آنکھ اور دل بس ظاہری دنیامیں اٹک کر نہ رہ جائیں بلکہ وہ اس کے لیے ایسے روشن دان بن جائیں جن کے ذریعہ جھانک کر کوئی شخص غیب کی جھلکیوںکو دیکھ لیتا ہے۔
