سُنَّةَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِي قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِيلٗا
[This is] the established way of Allah which has occurred before. And never will you find in the way of Allah any change
It was the law of God that when the Prophet’s initial addressees refused to answer his call, He destroyed them. On the occasion of Hudaybiyyah the Quraysh’s refusal had finally been made known. Under these circumstances, had things reached the stage of battle, the angels of God would have come down to strengthen the Muslims so that they might defeat their enemies. But, with regard to the polytheists, it was God’s intention that they should not be destroyed so that their extraordinary human talents could be utilized for the purposes of Islam. Therefore, Almighty God guided his Prophet towards the No-War Pact.
پیغمبر کے مخاطبین ِاول کے لیے خدا کا قانون یہ ہے کہ ان کے انکار کے بعد وہ انہیں ہلاک کردیتا ہے۔ حدیبیہ کے موقع پر قریش کا انکار آخری طور پر سامنے آگیا تھا۔ ایسی حالت میں اگر جنگ کی نوبت آتی تو مسلمانوں کی تقویت کے لیے خدا کے فرشتے اترتے اور وہ مسلمانوں کا ساتھ دے کر ان کے دشمنوں کا خاتمہ کردیتے۔
مگر مشرکین کے سلسلہ میں اللہ کی مصلحت یہ تھی کہ انہیں ہلاک نہ کیا جائے۔ بلکہ ان کی غیر معمولی انسانی صلاحیتوں کو اسلام کے مقصد کے لیے استعمال کیا جائے۔ اس لیے اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے پیغمبر کو ناجنگ معاہدہ کی طرف رہنمائی فرمائی۔
