يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰكُم مِّن ذَكَرٖ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ شُعُوبٗا وَقَبَآئِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ أَكۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَىٰكُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٞ
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted
Human beings differ from each other in many ways, notably in terms of race and place of origin—some are black, some are white, some are from the rain forests, some are from the tundra. But all these differences are for the purpose of identification—not for the making of distinctions. Indeed, many evils have stemmed from these differences being used to discriminate between one person and another, between one community and another, between one nation and another. Humanity has been eternally torn asunder by such prejudice. Human beings, in view of their origin, are all one. Among them, if at all there is any basis for distinction, it is as to who is fearful of God and who is not. Even this is known only to God and not to any human being.
انسانوں کے درمیان مختلف قسم کے فرق ہوتے ہیں۔ کوئی سفید ہے اور کوئی کالا۔ کوئی ایک نسل سے ہے اور کوئی دوسری نسل سے۔ کوئی ایک جغرافیہ سے تعلق رکھتا ہے اور کوئی دوسرے جغرافیہ سے۔ یہ تمام فرق صرف تعارف کے لیے ہیں، نہ کہ امتیاز کے لیے۔ اکثر خرابیوں کا سبب یہ ہوتا ہے کہ لوگ اس قسم کے فرق کی بنا پر ایک دوسرے کے درمیان فرق کرنے لگتے ہیں۔ اس سے وہ تفریق اور تعصب وجود میں آتا ہے جو کبھی ختم نہیں ہوتا۔
انسان اپنے آغاز کے اعتبار سے سب کے سب ایک ہیں۔ ان میں امتیاز کی اگر کوئی بنیاد ہے تو وہ صرف یہ ہے کہ کون اللہ سے ڈرنے والا ہے اور کون اللہ سے ڈرنے والا نہیں۔ اور اس کا بھی صحیح علم صرف خدا کو ہے، نہ کہ کسی انسان کو۔
