۞قَالَتِ ٱلۡأَعۡرَابُ ءَامَنَّاۖ قُل لَّمۡ تُؤۡمِنُواْ وَلَٰكِن قُولُوٓاْ أَسۡلَمۡنَا وَلَمَّا يَدۡخُلِ ٱلۡإِيمَٰنُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمۡۖ وَإِن تُطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ لَا يَلِتۡكُم مِّنۡ أَعۡمَٰلِكُمۡ شَيۡـًٔاۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ
The bedouins say, "We have believed." Say, "You have not [yet] believed; but say [instead], 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts. And if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not deprive you from your deeds of anything. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful
There were many small tribes around the Madinah township. After the immigration of the Prophet to Madinah, these people embraced Islam. But their embracing of Islam was not the result of any deep mental revolution. In the eyes of God, the person who genuinely adopts the faith of Islam is one who discovers Islam as a reality and enshrines it in the depths of his heart. Those who accept the Faith of God in this manner acquire eternal conviction. Their steadfastness is such they are ready to make any sacrifice. One may perform some righteous deed then think it necessary to announce the fact, but such announcement actually has a nullifying effect. A truly righteous deed is one which is done purely for the sake of God. As God Himself knows everything, where is the necessity to advertise it?
مدینہ کے اطراف میں کئی چھوٹے چھوٹے قبیلے تھے۔ یہ لوگ ہجرت کے بعد اسلام میں داخل ہوگئے مگر ان کا اسلام کسی گہرے ذہنی انقلاب کا نتیجہ نہ تھا۔ اللہ کی نظر میں اسلام پر ایمان لانے والا وہ ہے جو اسلام کو ایک ایسی حقیقت کے طور پر پائے جو اس کے دل کی گہرائیوں میں اتر جائے، جو لوگ اس خدا کے دین کو قبول کریں وہ ایک لازوال یقین کو پالیتے ہیں۔ وہ قربانی کی حد تک اس پر قائم رہنے کے لیے تیار رہتے ہیں۔
آدمی کوئی اچھا کام کرے تو وہ اس کا اظہار کرنا ضروری سمجھتا ہے۔ حالانکہ اس قسم کا اظہار اس کے عمل کو باطل کردینے والا ہے۔ اچھا عمل حقیقۃً وہ ہے جو اللہ کے لیے کیا جائے۔ پھر اللہ جب خود ہر بات کو جانتا ہے تو اس کے اعلان و اظہار کی کیا ضرورت۔
