1وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَٰتِ غَرۡقٗاBy those [angels] who extract with violence2وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَٰتِ نَشۡطٗاAnd [by] those who remove with ease3وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَٰتِ سَبۡحٗاAnd [by] those who glide [as if] swimming4فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَٰتِ سَبۡقٗاAnd those who race each other in a race5فَٱلۡمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمۡرٗاAnd those who arrange [each] matter6يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُOn the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation]7تَتۡبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُThere will follow it the subsequent [one]8قُلُوبٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاجِفَةٌHearts, that Day, will tremble9أَبۡصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٞTheir eyes humbled10يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرۡدُودُونَ فِي ٱلۡحَافِرَةِThey are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]11أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمٗا نَّخِرَةٗEven if we should be decayed bones12قَالُواْ تِلۡكَ إِذٗا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٞThey say, "That, then, would be a losing return13فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجۡرَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞIndeed, it will be but one shout14فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِAnd suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface15هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓHas there reached you the story of Moses16إِذۡ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوًىWhen his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa17ٱذۡهَبۡ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰGo to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed18فَقُلۡ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰAnd say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself19وَأَهۡدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخۡشَىٰAnd let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]20فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلۡأٓيَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰAnd he showed him the greatest sign21فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰBut Pharaoh denied and disobeyed22ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعَىٰThen he turned his back, striving23فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰAnd he gathered [his people] and called out1 lecture →24فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰAnd said, "I am your most exalted lord1 lecture →25فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰٓSo Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]26إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبۡرَةٗ لِّمَن يَخۡشَىٰٓIndeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]27ءَأَنتُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُۚ بَنَىٰهَاAre you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it28رَفَعَ سَمۡكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَاHe raised its ceiling and proportioned it29وَأَغۡطَشَ لَيۡلَهَا وَأَخۡرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَاAnd He darkened its night and extracted its brightness30وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآAnd after that He spread the earth31أَخۡرَجَ مِنۡهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرۡعَىٰهَاHe extracted from it its water and its pasture32وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَرۡسَىٰهَاAnd the mountains He set firmly33مَتَٰعٗا لَّكُمۡ وَلِأَنۡعَٰمِكُمۡAs provision for you and your grazing livestock1 lecture →34فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰBut when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity35يَوۡمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰThe Day when man will remember that for which he strove36وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰAnd Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see37فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰSo as for he who transgressed38وَءَاثَرَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَاAnd preferred the life of the world39فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰThen indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge40وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفۡسَ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰBut as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination1 lecture →41فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰThen indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge42يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرۡسَىٰهَاThey ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival43فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكۡرَىٰهَآIn what [position] are you that you should mention it44إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآTo your Lord is its finality45إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰهَاYou are only a warner for those who fear it46كَأَنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَهَا لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوٓاْ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوۡ ضُحَىٰهَاIt will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof
