- 0:08 assalamualikum everyone. can you hear me? ok ok, good to be here again. and this is the second session on the five pillars of islam. if you recall, the last session that i did, i covered two pillars, zakat and salah, which is prayer. and today i'll be covering the remaining three pillars, zakat, hajj and ramadan. अस्लामालिकुम everyone. Can you hear me? Ok ok, good to be here again. And this is the second session on the five pillars of Islam. If you recall, the last session that I did, I covered two pillars, faith and सलाद, which is prayer. And today I'll be covering the remaining three pillars, ज़कात, हज and रमादान.
- 0:35 Since ramadan is around the corner, so I will take ramadan, I'll change the order instead of zakat, ramadan and hajj. I'll first do zakat and hajj and then ramadan. Now, also if you recall, I emphasized in the last session that, you know, every, pillar has a ritualistic aspect and the spirit aspect. I emphasize a lot more on the, spirit, spiritual and the intellectual aspect, of the pillars. Since रमादान is around the corner, so I will take रमादान, I'll change the order instead of ज़कात, रमादान and हज. I'll first do ज़क़ात and हज and then रमादान. Now, also if you recall, I emphasized in the last session that, you know, every, pillar has a ritualistic aspect and the spirit aspect. I emphasize a lot more on the, spirit, spiritual and the intellectual aspect, of the pillars.
- 1:03 For example, if you recall I mentioned that, you know, the the spirit of, salat is humility, acknowledgement. The spirit of zakat is social service. The spirit of ramadan is patience and the spirit of hajj is unity. For example, if you recall I mentioned that, you know, the the spirit of, सलाद is humility, acknowledgement. The spirit of ज़क़ात is social service. The spirit of रमादान is patience and the spirit of हज is unity.
- 1:21 So let's start with the zakat first and as we know zakat is basically setting aside simply 2.5% of your wealth, your earnings for the cause of the religion and for the destitutes. It is like, you know, annual reminder to us that whatever that we have in this world, it is because of god almighty. So let's start with the ज़क़ात first and as we know ज़िकात is basically setting aside simply 2.5% of your wealth, your earnings for the cause of the religion and for the destitutes. It is like, you know, annual reminder to us that whatever that we have in this world, it is because of God almighty.
- 1:47 We may be making efforts, but those efforts will not even help us grow even a single grain of, you know, even a single grain or or rearing of livestock or let's say establishing of the, the big industries or the companies because there are innumerable factors that are at work from from earth to universe. We may be making efforts, but those efforts will not even help us grow even a single grain of, you know, even a single grain or or rearing of livestock or let's say establishing of the, the big industries or the companies because there are innumerable factors that are at work from from earth to universe.
- 2:09 If god were to remove even a single factor, all our efforts, you know, will be, down the drain. So, zakat is that, financial acknowledgement of this undeniable reality. Now there are simply eight categories as we know of zakat. What is it used for? If god were to remove even a single factor, all our efforts, you know, will be, down the drain. So, ज़क़ात is that, financial acknowledgement of this undeniable reality. Now there are simply eight categories as we know of ज़कात. What is it used for?
- 2:31 It is for the poor, for the destitute, for officials who collect zakat, for softening of the heart, for freeing of slaves, for people who are traveling, people who are in debt or or for the cause of god. If you look at what Quran commands us with respect to zakat, it says, attend to your prayers and pay the zakat and obey the messenger so that you may be shown mercy. It is for the poor, for the destitute, for officials who collect ज़कात, for softening of the heart, for freeing of slaves, for people who are traveling, people who are in debt or or for the cause of god. If you look at what Quran commands us with respect to zakat, it says, attend to your prayers and pay the ज़क़ात and obey the messenger so that you may be shown mercy.
- 3:00 Do not think that those who deny the truth can frustrate our plans on earth, thereabored shall be hell. And it it is indeed an, evil resort. So, what this verse is essentially telling us that, for us to receive the blessings of god, we have to develop three virtues, piety, charity, and the willingness to obey the model of the prophet. Do not think that those who deny the truth can frustrate our plans on earth, thereabored shall be hell. And it it is indeed an, evil resort. So, what this verse is essentially telling us that, for us to receive the blessings of god, we have to develop three virtues, piety, charity, and the willingness to obey the model of the prophet.
- 3:27 Now, piety comes with, observing, adhering to prayers, and I discussed that in detail in the last session that when you, do your salah with the spirit, it, it instills in you the fear of this feeling of humility, modesty, sincerity. It removes the arrogance and stubbornness. So piety comes with that. And when you give out zakat, you are concerned, you are the well wisher for others. Now, piety comes with, observing, adhering to prayers, and I discussed that in detail in the last session that when you, do your सलाह with the spirit, it, it instills in you the fear of this feeling of humility, modesty, sincerity. It removes the arrogance and stubbornness. So piety comes with that. And when you give out ज़क़ात, you are concerned, you are the well wisher for others.
- 3:57 That builds, you know, the second aspect of the virtue, the charity aspect. And the third is, during the time of prophet mohammad, it was a direct obeyance obeyance of, you know, his commands. And right now what we need to do is, in our daily life, we have to use his example and deal our life accordingly with the principles and the teachings of prophet salah alaihi wasallam. That builds, you know, the second aspect of the virtue, the charity aspect. And the third is, during the time of prophet मोहम्मद, it was a direct obeyance obeyance of, you know, his commands. And right now what we need to do is, in our daily life, we have to use his example and deal our life accordingly with the principles and the teachings of prophet
- 4:22 So this is as far as, you know, the basic framework of what zakat is. Let me also, tell you a little bit about, the history of zakat because it is so important. I'm sure many of you would know, let's revisit. If you recall that when prophet, mohammad salah alaihi wasallam died in june, What ensued after that was ridda wars, the apostasy wars. So this is as far as, you know, the basic framework of what ज़क़ात is. Let me also, tell you a little bit about, the history of ज़क़ात because it is so important. I'm sure many of you would know, let's revisit. If you recall that when prophet, मोहम्मद सलाह अलई वसल्लाम died in June, What ensued after that was रिद्दा Wars, the apostasy Wars.
- 4:49 It so happened that when hazrat abu bakr became the khalifa, there were many tribespeople who got up. So there were two challenges that hazrat abu bakr faced. One was that these tribesmen got up and they said, our pact was with prophet. Our pact was not with his successor. So we will not give zakat. They said that zakat is a tax. It so happened that when हज़रत अबू बकर became the Khalifa, there were many tribespeople who got up. So there were two challenges that हज़द अबूबकर faced. One was that these tribesmen got up and they said, our pact was with profit. Our pact was not with his successor. So we will not give ज़क़ात. They said that ज़क़ात is a tax.
- 5:15 Now, was more driven out of their economic selfishness, economic interest that they did not consider zakat as the fundamental pillar of islam but rather as a tax. Now, was more driven out of their economic selfishness, economic interest that they did not consider ज़क़ात as the fundamental pillar of Islam but rather as a tax.
- 5:25 This was one big challenge that opened up for hazrat abubakr and the second big challenge was the, the rise of the false prophets, musailama the liar, sajjaj tulaha, So, at that point of time, hazrat umar bin khattab, we all know that hazrat umar bin khattab's personality, he was like, you know, the pillar, the iron hand and nobody could stand before him. This was one big challenge that opened up for हज़रत अबूबाक़र and the second big challenge was the, the rise of the false prophets, मुसैलेमा the liar, सज्जान तुलेहा, So, at that point of time, हज़रत उमर बिन खत्ता, we all know that हज़रत उमर बिन खत्ता's personality, he was like, you know, the pillar, the iron hand and nobody could stand before him.
- 5:51 He was like so much stronger morally, spiritually. But imagine hazrat umar bin khattab goes to hazrat abu bakr and he says that ki aap in logon ke saath jang na karen. Imagine hazrat umar saying this. He said ki meri aur muhajireen ki yahi rai hai ki jab inke dilon mein iman aa jayega, to yeh zakat bhi denge. He was like so much stronger morally, spiritually. But imagine हज़रत उमर बिन ख़ताब goes to हज़रत अबू बकर and he says that कि आप इन लोगों के साथ जंग ना करें. Imagine हज़रत उमर saying this.
- 6:18 Abhi namaz parhne inko namaz parhne de but ab inke saath jang na karen. When Hazrat Abu Bakr heard this from Hazrat Umar saying that, you know, they are like wild animals and adopt a softened approach. Hazrat Abu Bakr was shocked. He said to Hazrat Umar ki maine to socha tha ki tum meri madad karne aaoge, lekin tum to madad ko chhodkar aaye ho. And then he said, jahalat mein to tum bade zordar the. When हज़रत अबू बकर heard this from हज़रत उमर saying that, you know, they are like wild animals and adopt a softened approach. And then he said,
- 6:48 Islam mein to tum boodhe aur kamzor ho gaye ho. And then Hazrat Abu said that by God, I will fight with them. Even if they hold a single rope that they used to give as zakat during the time of prophet, I will fight them. And then हज़द अबू said that by god, I will fight with them. Even if they hold a single rope that they used to give as ज़क़ाद during the time of profit, I will fight them.
- 7:02 And it was hazrat abu bakr's determination, his leadership that brought these tribesmen back into the fold of islam and he also waged military campaigns against the false prophets and he got defining success. And it was हज़द अबू बकर's determination, his leadership that brought these tribesmen back into the fold of Islam and he also waged military campaigns against the false prophets and he got defining success.
- 7:19 So later when hazrat umar became the khalifa after passing away of hazrat abu bakr, one of the person said to hazrat umar ki aap behtar leader hain hazrat abu bakr se. To hazrat umar ne unko yaad dilaya yeh din. Unhone kaha ki hazrat abu bakr ka woh ek din umar aur umar ke khandan ki zindagi ke tamam bhar ke amal se behtar hai. So later when हज़रत उमर became the खलीफा after passing away of हज़रत अबूब बकर, one of the person said to हज़रत उमर कि आप बेहतर leader हैं हज़रत अबूब बकर से.
- 7:46 You can imagine that how important, zakat is. Not that because it is like one of the pillars but just think about it. Hamari zindagi mein jo bhi blessings hamein mili hui hain, main aaj yahan par khade hokar bol pa raha hoon, main saans le raha hoon, aap mujhe dekh rahe hain, main aapko dekh raha hoon, aap chalkar aaye hain yahan par. All of these is because of the blessings of god almighty and therefore zakat is, is very important and we need to understand this aspect. You can imagine that how important, ज़क़ात is. Not that because it is like one of the pillars but just think about it. All of these is because of the blessings of god almighty and therefore ज़क़ात is, is very important and we need to understand this aspect.
- 8:15 Aap yeh dekhiye, hazrat abu darda chithi likhte hain, hazrat salman farsi ko, usmein likhte hain ki on the day of judgement when people will be called for accountability, they will be on the bridge of sirat. To woh aage badh rahe honge, unka maal unke peeche peeche aa raha hoga. आप यह देखिए, हज़रत अबू दर्दा चिट्ठी लिखते हैं, हज़रत सलमान फारसी को, उसमें लिखते हैं कि on the day of judgement when people will be called for accountability, they will be on the bridge of सिरात.
- 8:36 People who have given, who have spent wealth in the way of god, jab woh ladkhadayenge to wealth kahegi, don't worry, you fulfilled the debt that I owed in this world. Aaj aapko darne ki zaroorat nahi hai, aap aage badhiye. But similarly, those people who did not spend in the way of god, The wealth will be put on the shoulders of those people and they will cry out. People who have given, who have spent wealth in the way of God, जब वह लड़खड़ाएंगे तो wealth कहेगी, don't worry, you fulfilled the debt that I owed in this world. But similarly, those people who did not spend in the way of god, The wealth will be put on the shoulders of those people and they will cry out.
- 9:03 They will say that, they will they will cry for the destruction and for the removal of wealth. The wealth will say that kyon nahi tumne obey kiya concerning me? So this is, you know, very important to understand that why it is such a big responsibility. Sahaba mein itna jazba hota tha ki bepanah jazba kyunki woh allah se zyada ki umeed rakhte the, maximum chahte the. They will say that, they will they will cry for the destruction and for the removal of wealth. The wealth will say that क्यों नहीं तुमने obey किया concerning me? So this is, you know, very important to understand that why it is such a big responsibility.
- 9:32 To khud bhi maximum par rehte the.
- 10:01 So let us understand also that what is zakat and charity? What is the, what is the, you know, the relation? Hazrat ibn masood ne ek matla farmaya ki every one of you is a guest and, and his wealth is loan. The guest will depart and the loan will go back to its original owner. So, zakat basically, you know, benefits, it has two aspects. So let us understand also that what is ज़क़ात and charity? What is the, what is the, you know, the relation? हज़ार इब्ना मसूद ने एक मतभा फरमाया कि every one of you is a guest and, and his wealth is loan. The guest will depart and the loan will go back to its original owner. So, ज़कात basically, you know, benefits, it has two aspects.
- 10:30 It benefits the individual and it benefits the society. How it benefits the individual is that every person status in hereafter will depend on his fear and love for god almighty. To jab hum zakat dete hain, we are a person fears that, you know, he will be held accountable and therefore he spends in the way of, in the way of god. It benefits the individual and it benefits the society. How it benefits the individual is that every person status in hereafter will depend on his fear and love for god almighty. तो जब हम ज़क़ाद देते हैं, we are a person fears that, you know, he will be held accountable and therefore he spends in the way of, in the way of god.
- 10:57 What really happens is that maybe some people think that aap zakat kisi aur ko de rahe ho, lekin actually speaking it is coming back to you in the sense that it purifies you. It purifies your, your earnings. It removes the love of wealth that you have. You realize that it is given as a trust by God almighty to you. What really happens is that maybe some people think that आप ज़क़ात किसी और को दे रहे हो, लेकिन actually speaking it is coming back to you in the sense that it purifies you. It purifies your, your earnings. It removes the love of wealth that you have. You realize that it is given as a trust by God almighty to you.
- 11:20 That is why in Quran you find that it says that your wealth and children are nothing but your test. To on a lighter note ek Parsi saying hai ki agar, agar jaan mangoge to haazir hai, maal mangoge to sochna padega. That is why in कुरान you find that it says that your wealth and children are nothing but your test.
- 11:42 But yahi factor hai kyunki logon ke logon ke dil mein unka paisa itna azeez hota hai ki woh kharchna nahi chahte. Jab woh kharchta hai to woh actually ek khuda ka haq hai jo woh lautata hai. So, look at this, you know, very eye opening verse. It says never will you attain to righteousness unless you spend for the cause of god out of what you cherish and whatever you spend is known to god. So, look at this, you know, very eye opening verse. It says never will you attain to righteousness unless you spend for the cause of god out of what you cherish and whatever you spend is known to god.
- 12:12 So, we have not been sent in this world to hold wealth. We have been sent in this world and this, if you read quran, you you understand from hadith that we are here for a test. Every person is, seen whether he is fit to inhabitate, the paradise or he is not, he is not fit. So, we have not been sent in this world to hold wealth. We have been sent in this world and this, if you read कुरान, you you understand from hadith that we are here for a test. Every person is, seen whether he is fit to inhabitate, the paradise or he is not, he is not fit.
- 12:35 So, you are spending, jab aap sadqa karte hain, aap aap zakat dete hain, to you are actually showing that yes, you are fit for paradise. But when you exploit others, you engage in luxury, then how can you, how can they both be on the similar footing? A person who gives zakat as compared to a person who does not give zakat. Can they be, both equal? So, you are spending, जब आप सदका करते हैं, आप आप ज़कात देते हैं, तो you are actually showing that yes, you are fit for paradise. But when you exploit others, you engage in luxury, then how can you, how can they both be on the similar footing? A person who gives zakat as compared to a person who does not give zakat. Can they be, both equal?
- 12:58 Look at this, you know, this beautiful verse, those who believe do good deeds, attend to their prayers and engage in almsgiving. They shall be rewarded by the lord and shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve. Look at this, you know, this beautiful verse, those who believe do good deeds, attend to their prayers and engage in almsgiving. They shall be rewarded by the lord and shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve.
- 13:16 To jab aap apne mehboob maal ko khuda ke raaste mein lagate hain, to jaise maine kaha ki aap purify karte hain aur purified personalities hi jannat mein baakhil ki jayengi. Aap khuda ke raaste par kaam kaisa laga rahe hain? With respect to that, there is a very good hadith. With respect to that, there is a very good हदीश.
- 13:39 Prophet said that if god grants guidance to one person through you, then it is better than all those things upon which the sun rises. So, zakat in that sense is, you know, it's a practical prayer. It it reminds a person ki jab aap zakat dete hain, aap ya charity karte hain, to aap apne aap ko remind karate hain ki aaj mere paas paisa hai, iske paas nahi hai. But agar god ne chaha to yeh position reverse ho sakti hai. Prophet said that if god grants guidance to one person through you, then it is better than all those things upon which the sun rises. So, ज़क़ाद in that sense is, you know, it's a practical prayer. It it reminds a person
- 14:09 He can be rich and I can be poor. See, you, when you give out zakat, you are actually also reducing the inequality in the society. You are showing that others have rights, you know, over you. So, zakat is also related to morality because on one hand it removes the feeling of stinginess, miserliness and on the other hand it promotes, you know, the culture of generosity, philanthropy. He can be rich and I can be poor. See, you, when you give out ज़क़ात, you are actually also reducing the inequality in the society. You are showing that others have rights, you know, over you. So, ज़क़ात is also related to morality because on one hand it removes the feeling of stinginess, miserliness and on the other hand it promotes, you know, the culture of generosity, philanthropy.
- 14:39 And one important thing is ki agar aapko zakat mil rahi hai, if you are the recipient of zakat, then you should not feel jealous of the person who is giving out zakat. Yeh bahut important hai. You should love that person because that brother or that sister has helped you. So, should have that feeling. Look at this, you know, this amazing verse. Quran says who will give god a generous loan? He will multiply it many times over. And one important thing is कि अगर आपको ज़कात मिल रही है, if you are the recipient of ज़क़ात, then you should not feel jealous of the person who is giving out ज़क़ात. You should love that person because that brother or that sister has helped you. So, should have that feeling. Look at this, you know, this amazing verse. कुरान says who will give god a generous loan? He will multiply it many times over.
- 15:08 It is god who withholds and god who gives abundantly and it is to him that you shall all be returned. I mean, you know, this is such a phenomenal verse. Just imagine the most merciful, the most compassionate, the glorious, the magnificent, the creator, the provider, the sustainer, the only one, the mighty one, the forgiving. Hum humko jo kuch mila hua hai, woh allah ki wajah se hi mila hua hai. It is god who withholds and god who gives abundantly and it is to him that you shall all be returned. I mean, you know, this is such a phenomenal verse. Just imagine the most merciful, the most compassionate, the glorious, the magnificent, the creator, the provider, the sustainer, the only one, the mighty one, the forgiving.
- 15:37 And what does he say? What he has given out of that, you spend a little. He is saying, will you give a generous loan to me? I mean, this is, this is infinite amount of mercy and compassion that one finds. When you, when you do that, you're actually putting your name in the front row of believers. And equally enlightening is the next verse. And what does he say? What he has given out of that, you spend a little. He is saying, will you give a generous loan to me? I mean, this is, this is infinite amount of mercy and compassion that one finds. When you, when you do that, you're actually putting your name in the front row of believers. And equally enlightening is the next verse.
- 16:05 God has bought from the believers their lives and their wealth in return for the garden. God has bought the lives of the believers. I mean, you know, I keep reading these two verses. It charges every cell of my body. One that, you know, I have to give loan to God almighty and he's adopted us literally. God has bought from the believers their lives and their wealth in return for the garden. God has bought the lives of the believers. I mean, you know, I keep reading these two verses. It charges every cell of my body. One that, you know, I have to give loan to God almighty and he's adopted us literally.
- 16:28 It is such an encouraging verse because it tells you to, you know, be steadfast and that true success lies in following the divine contract and what do you get in return? Promise for paradise. And quran also exhorts, it says that spend for god's cause, do not cast yourself into destruction by your own hands. It is such an encouraging verse because it tells you to, you know, be steadfast and that true success lies in following the divine contract and what do you get in return? Promise for paradise. And कुरान also exhorts, it says that spend for god's cause, do not cast yourself into destruction by your own hands.
- 16:56 Do good, God loves the doers of good. So in a way, it is also cautioning, this verse is also cautioning us that if we do not incur expenditure in the way of god, then we are actually putting ourselves on the path of destruction. Aap yaad rakhiye ki agar aapke paas kuch dene ke liye aur agar aap woh na dein, to jo khuda ke paas hai, woh aapko kyun dein? Do good, God loves the doers of good. So in a way, it is also cautioning, this verse is also cautioning us that if we do not incur expenditure in the way of god, then we are actually putting ourselves on the path of destruction.
- 17:24 If what you have, you're not willing to surrender, not give in the way of God. Why should God give what he has? It is very important because people do all the spending for their families, for their children, friends circle. But what about your dean? What about your responsibility? And therefore it is so important and this verse is, exactly teaching us that. Look at the next uplifting verse. If what you have, you're not willing to surrender, not give in the way of God. Why should God give what he has? It is very important because people do all the spending for their families, for their children, friends circle. But what about your dean? What about your responsibility? And therefore it is so important and this verse is, exactly teaching us that. Look at the next uplifting verse.
- 17:49 It says, those who spend their wealth for God's cause may be compared to a grain of corn, which sprouts into seven years with a 100 grains in each year, for God grants manyfold increase to whom he wills. God is infinite and all knowing. So, yeh depend karta hai ki aap jo beej bona chahte hain, woh is duniya ke liye bona chahte hain ya aakhirat ke liye bona chahte hain. It says, those who spend their wealth for God's cause may be compared to a grain of corn, which sprouts into seven years with a 100 grains in each year, for God grants manyfold increase to whom he wills. God is infinite and all knowing.
- 18:16 If you plant a seed for fame, ambition, for wealth, only for this world, then as per this verse, your one seed will yield a thousand grains, many folds, like thousand times more. But if you plant a seed for what you want in hereafter, you are actually planting a seed in the everlasting fields of hereafter, and the reward, will be unlimited. - 18:41 So people who spend in the way of god, they are ones who give out generously. I mean, if they are not acknowledged, they don't mind, and they do not taunt the people whom they give money. And it does happen that there are situations that people with base desires, they say something that spoils the spiritual atmosphere by the Lewitt comments.
- 25:45 Or let's say if somebody, uh-uh, confronts them or provokes them, they get into a quarrel, or they lose their dignified self. So what does Quran says? It says ki these are sins to be avoided. - 26:51 But what is important is that you have to, you have to experience the same state of emotions, the feelings that Hazrat, that prophet Ibrahim and his family experience, that is the real, you know, spirit of of hajj. For example, when you do sa'i from Safa to Marwa, you remember how Hazrat Hajra ran from Safa to Marwa. - 38:52 jaise aap agar kabhi bimar ho jaen, to aap doctor ke paas jaenge. Doctor aapko prescription likh ke dega aur doctor kahega ki if you follow this prescription, then you will get, well, so similarly look at what Quran is saying, believers fasting has been prescribed for you just as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may guard yourself against evil. Doctor आपको prescription लिख के देगा और doctor कहेगा कि if you follow this prescription, then you will get, well, so similarly look at what कुरान is saying, believers fasting has been prescribed for you just as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may guard yourself against evil.
- 39:17 Now, one of the main aim of, of Ramadan is to reduce, the material dependence and, you know, firm up your spiritual resolve. Ramadan in a way, shows us that while being a part of this world, you can withdraw yourself from the world. So, in in a sense, you, Ramadan, in Ramadan, it tells you that you can fulfill your spiritual obligation. So, in in a sense, you, रमादान, in रमादान, it tells you that you can fulfill your spiritual obligation.
- 39:47 You can fulfill your spiritual obligation even though you are in the materialistic turmoil. So in that sense, fasting gives you that peace of mind. Moreover, a shared experience of fasting within the community that fosters unity and it sort of collectively contributes to the feeling of peace. Moreover, a shared experience of fasting within the community that fosters unity and it sort of collectively contributes to the feeling of peace.
- 40:11 aksar aisa hota hai ki log they indulge in gossiping, in slandering, and all sorts of things. But Ramadan teaches us that, no, you have to improve your character. And prophet laid out that path. I mean, he would pray all through the day during Ramadan and he would praise the lord and it would culminate at the time of breaking of the fast when, you know, every person would feel near to god. अक्सर ऐसा होता है कि लोग they indulge in gossiping, in slandering, and all sorts of things. But रमादान teaches us that, no, you have to improve your character. And prophet laid out that path. I mean, he would pray all through the day during रमादान and he would praise the lord and it would culminate at the time of breaking of the fast when, you know, every person would feel near to god.
- 40:41 And that is why Rasool Allah ne jo fast break karte hain, unko paanch logon mein shamil kiya, whose supplication god never turns down. woh are the other four, the oppressed parents who pray for their children, a person who travels for the sake of god, and a just ruler. So, prophet divided the month into three parts. And that is why रसुल्ला ने जो fast break करते हैं, उनको पांच लोगों में शामिल किया, whose supplication god never turns down. वह are the other four, the oppressed parents who pray for their children, a person who travels for the sake of god, and a just ruler. So, prophet divided the month into three parts.
- 41:10 The first ten days are the days of the blessings, the next ten days are the days of the forgiveness, and the last ten days are the days of freedom from hell fire. He said the best days of the world are the last ten days of Ramadan and therefore his family would join him what figuratively is called tightening of the belt. They would be more devoted and sincere in in in devotion. - 41:38 So fasting in a way helps in, you know, cultivating self discipline and self growth. aap sochiye ki ek mahina, you know, when you are remembering god without any distractions, it sort of heightens up the, the spiritual quotient of your mind. So fasting in a way helps in, you know, cultivating self discipline and self growth. आप सोचिए कि एक महीना, you know, when you are remembering god without any distractions, it sort of heightens up the, the spiritual quotient of your mind.
- 41:54 I talked about, you know, the verse one eighty five that when you ponder of it, actually it, awakens a feeling of gratefulness ki Quran, came down as a guidance, as a reminder for us. It has helped us in every possible way. You feel grateful, to God almighty. And when you are actually deprived of the food, the water, you realize how precious the food and water is. I talked about, you know, the verse one eighty five that when you ponder of it, actually it, awakens a feeling of gratefulness कि कुरान, came down as a guidance, as a reminder for us. It has helped us in every possible way. You feel grateful, to God almighty. And when you are actually deprived of the food, the water, you realize how precious the food and water is.
- 42:22 And therefore, you know, jo ek speed breaker motorist ke sath karta hai, Ramadan does that to the devotee. It gives that necessary pause in the year that you think and you remember a lot god almighty. So, you know, it is a kind of a strategy that helps in increasing the efficacy of of worship. Prophet said that Ramadan is the month of patience. And therefore, you know, जो एक speed breaker motorist के साथ करता है, रामादान does that to the devotee. It gives that necessary pause in the ear that you think and you remember a lot god almighty. So, you know, it is a kind of a strategy that helps in increasing the efficacy of of worship. पापिक said that रमादान is the month of patience.
- 42:52 A lot of emphasis is therefore given on patience and paieeti, taqwah Because these are the two things that have to become an integral part of our personality. God has given us freedom and therefore we have to decide how do we use that freedom. Do we use this freedom to tie ourself with the rope of god laws? A lot of emphasis is therefore given on patience and पाईटी, तकवाह Because these are the two things that have to become an integral part of our personality. God has given us freedom and therefore we have to decide how do we use that freedom. Do we use this freedom to tie ourself with the rope of god laws?
- 43:19 Ek bahut achhi hadith jo is cheez ko reflect karti hai ke rasool ne momin ko bandhe hue ghode ke saman bataya ke a believer is like a tethered horse. It can only move about as much as the rope allows. So, in that sense, you have to bring in discipline in, in your, in your life. एक बहुत अच्छी हादीज़ जो इस चीज़ को reflect करती है कि रसुल्ला ने मोमेन को बंधे हुए घोड़े के सामान बताया कि a believer is like a tethered horse. It can only move about as much as the rope allows. So, in that sense, you have to bring in discipline in, in your, in your life.
- 43:41 And thirty days, you know, psychologically speaking also, there are studies that, kisi bhi habit ko to make it as part of your personality, you need thirty days. If you, spend thirty days sincerely, it becomes part of your personality. The piety, the righteousness, the good thoughts, the good action, sincerity, you know, wanting to do things better for the welfare of your brothers and sisters. And thirty days, you know, psychologically speaking also, there are studies that, किसी भी habit को to make it as part of your personality, you need thirty days. If you, spend thirty days sincerely, it becomes part of your personality. The piety, the righteousness, the good thoughts, the good action, sincerity, you know, wanting to do things better for the welfare of your brothers and sisters.
- 44:10 That develops, it firms up. And, let me also tell you how fasting hai da'wah ilallah aur also linked very closely. That develops, it firms up. And, let me also tell you how fasting है दावा इललाह और also linked very closely.
- 44:25 In the quran, the call to god which is in chapter 41 verse 33, it is called da'wah ilallah, which is to convey, the message of god to humanity, to tell them what is the creation plan of God. That is all that da'wah ilallah means, telling them about the message of God almighty and telling them, advising them to lead a God oriented life. Warning them to lead lead not a self oriented life. In the कुरान, the call to god which is in chapter 41 verse 33, it is called दावा इललाह, which is to convey, the message of god to humanity, to tell them what is the creation plan of God. That is all that दावा लल्ला means, telling them about the message of God almighty and telling them, advising them to lead a God oriented life. Warning them to lead lead not a self oriented life.
- 44:55 And this is the reason why prophet was sent to humanity. As we find in in the quran, it says that they have sent you forth as a mercy to all mankind. But we know that prophet was sent for a very limited period of time. And this is the reason why prophet was sent to humanity. As we find in in the Quran, it says that they have sent you forth as a mercy to all mankind. But we know that prophet was sent for a very limited period of time.
- 45:16 Ibn Sirah, who is one of the earlier biographers of prophet, he said ke rasoolullah apne sahaba ke paas gaye aur unhone kaha ke god has sent me as a blessing for humanity. So convey the message to humanity on my behalf, and it is therefore incumbent on every muslim to convey that message to humanity. Ibn ईशाह, who is one of the earlier biographers of prophet, he said कि रसुल्लाह अपने साहबा के पास गए और उन्होंने कहा कि god has sent me as a blessing for humanity. So convey the message to humanity on my behalf, and it is therefore incumbent on every मुस्लिम to convey that message to humanity.
- 45:42 Said that if you do that, god will show mercy to you. Look at the, next, you know, this heartening, verse, believers be god's helper. Yeah, I read it so many times when the first time I read it, I said to myself, does God really need help? He is the self sustaining, he is the mighty, he is the creator. Said that if you do that, god will show mercy to you. Look at the, next, you know, this heartening, verse, believers be god's helper. Yeah, I read it so many times when the first time I read it, I said to myself, does God really need help? He is the self sustaining, he is the mighty, he is the creator.
- 46:09 I mean, he says be and everything, everything comes into reality. But only for this task, only for the task of conveying the message of God he's saying, be my helper. Would you not want to be noted in the book as someone who helped and supported god's cause? How can we afford not to be included in god's cause? It is phenomenal verse. I mean, he says be and everything, everything comes into reality. But only for this task, only for the task of conveying the message of God he's saying, be my helper. Would you not want to be noted in the book as someone who helped and supported god's cause? How can we afford not to be included in god's cause? It is phenomenal verse.
- 46:38 I mean, you can read it like thousand times, believers be God's helper. And that is why, you know, prophets said fasting, you know, sort of prepares oneself for the sake of divine mission. Another important thing during ramadan is this practice i'tikaf and as I mentioned earlier that fasting is withdrawing yourself from the worldly attachment. Now, this reaches climax. I mean, you can read it like thousand times, believers be God's helper. And that is why, you know, prophets said fasting, you know, sort of prepares oneself for the sake of divine mission. Another important thing during रमादान is this practice एतिकाफ and as I mentioned earlier that fasting is withdrawing yourself from the worldly attachment. Now, this reaches climax.
- 47:05 In the last ten days of, ramadan, when people go to the mosque and they basically spend time in isolation usually to concentrate and to contemplate, and this is something which is very, very important. And, Abu Hurairah, Hazrat Abu Hurairah said that prophet, practiced i'tikaf every year. In the last ten days of, रमादान, when people go to the mosque and they basically spend time in isolation usually to concentrate and to contemplate, and this is something which is very, very important. And, Abu Hourera, Hazrat Abu Hourera said that prophet, practiced ऐतिकाफ every year.
- 47:34 But in the year of his passing away, he did i'tikaf for twenty days. I'tikaf, the purpose of i'tikaf is basically muhasabah, which is introspection. When you are introspecting, you think about your past, about your present, and how you are going to shape up, your future. It is like, you know, undergoing entire spiritual overhauling. You are immersed in in a spiritual in a spiritual baat. But in the year of his passing away, he did ऐतिकाफ for twenty days. ऐतिकाफ, the purpose of ऐतिकाफ is basically मोहासबा, which is introspection. When you are introspecting, you think about your past, about your present, and how you are going to shape up, your future. It is like, you know, undergoing entire spiritual overhauling. You are immersed in in a spiritual in a spiritual बात.
- 48:03 And, when you are in i'tikaf, you do deep study of the quran. You sort of, understand, the message that quran is giving with respect to your situation and how the developing situations can be managed in the light of, quran. And this comes about when you do, i'tikaf, and you sort of update your life accordingly. And, when you are in नेताकाफ, you do deep study of the Quran. You sort of, understand, the message that Quran is giving with respect to your situation and how the developing situations can be managed in the light of, Quran. And this comes about when you do, एतकाफ, and you sort of update your life accordingly.
- 48:28 So, we can say that while ramadan is like, it brings about spiritual transformation, i'tikaf enhances that process through, intellectual, seclusion. So, we can say that while रमादान is like, it brings about spiritual transformation, ऐतिकाफ enhances that process through, intellectual, seclusion.
- 48:42 And, ramadan in desire management, as I mentioned earlier, that how you need to control your desires because, you know, when you, when you give up food and water, you are controlling the urge of hunger and thirst. Would that person be same as a person who doesn't observe ramadan? I mean, he lets his desires go loose. And, रमाधान in desire management, as I mentioned earlier, that how you need to control your desires because, you know, when you, when you give up food and water, you are controlling the urge of hunger and thirst. Would that person be same as a person who doesn't observe रमादान? I mean, he lets his desires go loose.
- 49:08 And in that sense, it it sort of increases your determination. It increases your desire management. And therefore, you know, when you realize that you have the free will but you're using that freedom for the sake of god, it saves you from distraction. It helps you in that, you know, that that building of self control because you you are free to indulge in corrupt practices. You are free to be selfish. And in that sense, it it sort of increases your determination. It increases your desire management. And therefore, you know, when you realize that you have the free will but you're using that freedom for the sake of god, it saves you from distraction. It helps you in that, you know, that that building of self control because you you are free to indulge in corrupt practices. You are free to be selfish.
- 49:38 You are free to be whimsical, you are free to get angry, make enemies. But, as against that, giving up food and water, controlling your desires is teaching us the opposite of opposite of that. So in a way, you're becoming spiritual. And the equivalent of spirituality is rabbaniyah in in in the quran and that means that, you know, when you become spiritual it reflects in your day to day life. You are free to be whimsical, you are free to get angry, make enemies. But, as against that, giving up food and water, controlling your desires is teaching us the opposite of opposite of that. So in a way, you're becoming spiritual. And the equivalent of spirituality is रब्बानिया in in in the कुरान and that means that, you know, when you become spiritual it reflects in your day to day life.
- 50:06 So fasting in that sense is a training in taqwa, in piety. Because you realize that what you need not do which is prohibited by god and what you should do which will, which will please god almighty. So it reminds you that, you know, this life is a test, as I mentioned earlier. And when you are reminded that this is a test, it breaks your arrogance, it breaks your stubbornness, it cuts you to size. So fasting in that sense is a training in तकवा, in piety.
- 50:35 When it cuts you to size, you realize what the reality is. The reality is that, you are helpless. That becomes the meeting point with God almighty and you discover that God is all powerful and we are all powerless, and that is, the most important thing. Another aspect is that, fasting, helps in bringing out, dua. When it cuts you to size, you realize what the reality is. The reality is that, you are helpless. That becomes the meeting point with God almighty and you discover that God is all powerful and we are all powerless, and that is, the most important thing. Another aspect is that, fasting, helps in bringing out, dua.
- 51:03 While, giving commands. Look at this very promising and assuring verse. When my servants ask you about me, say that I am near. I respond to the call of one who calls. Whenever he calls to me, let them then respond to me and believe in me so that they may be rightly guided. While, giving commands. Look at this very promising and assuring verse. When my servants ask you about me, say that I am near. I respond to the call of one who calls. Whenever he calls to me, let them then respond to me and believe in me so that they may be rightly guided.
- 51:29 Tafsir ibn Kathir explains about this that companions went to the prophet and said that, is god near that we should speak quietly or is he far that we should call out to him? And so these verses were revealed, these were revealed along with, you know, the verses of the ramadan. It is from one eighty three to one eighty seven. तफ्सीर ibn Kasir explains about this that companions went to the prophet and said that, is god near that we should speak quietly or is he far that we should call out to him? And so these verses were revealed, these were revealed along with, you know, the verses of the Ramadan. It is from one eighty three to one eighty seven.
- 51:55 And, what we really understand is that therefore, to discover God, we have to, surrender, to God almighty. And, and therefore, when we do dua, we call out to God. It may appear as a verbal act, it is actually an act of heart or, your mind. And, what we really understand is that therefore, to discover God, we have to, surrender, to God almighty. And, and therefore, when we do दुआ, we call out to God. It may appear as a verbal act, it is actually an act of heart or, your mind.
- 52:17 The more the mind cultivates, the more the dua's that will come out of your heart will be the precious dua. And fasting enhances that spiritual capability. It induces, fasting induces that real dua. Let me give this example. This is narrated by Abu Umamah in the words of, prophet. The more the mind cultivates, the more the दुआs that will come out of your heart will be the precious दुआ. And fasting enhances that spiritual capability. It induces, fasting induces that real दुआ. Let me give this example. This is narrated by Abu Obama in the words of, prophet.
- 52:42 He said, my lord offered, to grant me the entire Valley Of Mecca which would be turned into gold. I said, no, oh my lord, I would rather have my meal one day and remain hungry the next. And when I am hungry, I will turn to you and remember you. And when I eat, I will praise you and thank you. So it shows that, you know, the dua comes when, there are situations conducive for that dua. He said, my lord offered, to grant me the entire Valley Of Mecca which would be turned into gold. I said, no, oh my lord, I would rather have my meal one day and remain hungry the next. And when I am hungry, I will turn to you and remember you. And when I eat, I will praise you and thank you. So it shows that, you know, the दुआ comes when, there are situations conducive for that दुआ.
- 53:10 When you go through different situations of helplessness, the dua that comes out are that pearls of preciousness, those words that would not normally come if the situation is not, you know, would say it's it's it's a normal situation. When you go through different situations of helplessness, the दुआ that comes out are that pearls of preciousness, those words that would not normally come if the situation is not, you know, would say it's it's it's a normal situation.
- 53:28 And therefore, you know, fasting in that sense teaches you patience and forbearance because patience is that ground in which the blessed tree of dua grows. When you are fasting, when you give up food and water, you suffer the pangs of hunger and thirst. It really brings in humility in you aur humility se kya hota hai? And therefore, you know, fasting in that sense teaches you patience and forbearance because patience is that ground in which the blessed tree of दुआ grows. When you are fasting, when you give up food and water, you suffer the pangs of hunger and thirst. It really brings in humility in you
- 53:54 Ek arrogant aur stubborn aadmi kabhi bhi humble nahi hoga. You will all agree, right? Lekin jab aapke andar humbleness aati hai, tabhi aapke andar true repentance hoti hai. You will all agree, right?
- 54:08 Only a truly humble person will repent and repentance se jab aap dua karte hain, it goes straight to the throne of god almighty and that is how dua is enhanced with this process of of fasting. Significance of sehri and iftar, we all know that what sehri is, prophet said to the companions that eat sehri because it is a blessing. Only a truly humble person will repent and repentance से जब आप दुआ करते हैं, it goes straight to the throne of god almighty and that is how दुआ is enhanced with this process of of fasting. Significance of सेहरी and इफ़्तार, we all know that what सेहरी is, prophet said to the companions that eat सेहरी because it is a blessing.
- 54:36 The significance is that, you know, while god has given a tough command to to obey, he's also made it easy by allowing us to have have sehri. But one of the important takeaway and I wanted to emphasize a lot is that don't overeat. The significance is that, you know, while god has given a tough command to to obey, he's also made it easy by allowing us to have have सेहरी. But one of the important takeaway and I wanted to emphasize a lot is that don't overeat.
- 54:57 Mere ko kai baar conversations mein logon ne kaha hai ki hum sehri mein yeh khate hain, poora din bhook nahi lagti, pyaas nahi lagti, bahut aasani se roza chala gaya. That defeats the purpose of ramadan. The purpose of ramadan is to experience that deprivation, that hunger, that thirst. Agar aapko bhook aur pyaas hi nahi lagi toh ramadan ka aapne kaise aapne benefit uthaya? That defeats the purpose of रमादान. The purpose of रमादान is to experience that deprivation, that hunger, that thirst.
- 55:23 The purpose of ramadan is to increase that sensitivity to, to bring that piety in you. That cannot happen. If you feel like you're not hungry, then it's like any other normal day. And similarly, in the case of iftar, it means, of course, like, to break and, it's a, it's a combination of both, spiritual as a physical, physical food. The purpose of रमादान is to increase that sensitivity to, to bring that piety in you. That cannot happen. If you feel like you're not hungry, then it's like any other normal day. And similarly, in the case of व्यवस्थार, it means, of course, like, to break and, it's a, it's a combination of both, spiritual as a physical, physical food.
- 55:51 When prophet, used to break his fast, he used to say, thirst has been quenched and hunger is no more, and God willing, God will bless us with His, reward. So in a way, iftar also becomes a point of reference for invoking a prayer. When prophet, used to break his fast, he used to say, thirst has been quenched and hunger is no more, and God willing, God will bless us with His, reward. So in a way, इफ्तार also becomes a point of reference for invoking a prayer.
- 56:08 That is a spirit of iftar that, when you are breaking your fast, you say that god I obeyed one command but there may be several commands that I may not have obeyed. So bless me, forgive me. That is a spirit of इफ्तार that, when you are breaking your fast, you say that god I obeyed one command but there may be several commands that I may not have obeyed. So bless me, forgive me.
- 56:24 And that is very important, other important thing that I wanted to say that we also see that today iftars are very lavishly organized, whereas prophet said that simplicity is a part of faith. If you, if you read sahaba's life or how prophet used to observe fast, you would not notice that unke zindagi mein ki bahut lavish iftar hote the. And that is very important, other important thing that I wanted to say that we also see that today इफ़्तारs are very lavishly organized, whereas prophet said that simplicity is a part of faith. If you, if you read साहबाज़ life or how prophet used to observe fast, you would not notice that उनके ज़िंदगी में कि बहुत लाविश इफ़्तार होते थे.
- 56:54 The the the problem with the lavish iftar is that it takes your focus away from the main part which is the spirit of iftar and it focuses on the taste, on the food. Everybody focuses on that and every year I I also get invitation of iftar ki bahut iftar party hoti hai, you know, the spread is huge. The the the problem with the lavish इफ्तार is that it takes your focus away from the main part which is the spirit of इफ्तार and it focuses on the taste, on the food. Everybody focuses on that and every year I I also get invitation of इफ़्तार कि बहुत इफ़्तार party होती है, you know, the spread is huge.
- 57:15 But that is not how it how it should be and therefore, you know, lead a very simple iftar gathering so that you experience the true spirit of it. Another aspect during ramadan is the night of destiny. This is one of the special features of ramadan, which is lailatul qadr. And quran said, says that we sent quran down on the night of destiny. But that is not how it how it should be and therefore, you know, lead a very simple इफ़्तार gathering so that you experience the true spirit of it. Another aspect during रमादान is the night of destiny. This is one of the special features of रमादान, which is ललित उल कदर. And कुरान said, says that we sent कुरान down on the night of destiny.
- 57:43 And what will make you comprehend what the night of destiny is? The night of destiny is better than a thousand months. On that night, the angels and the spirit comes down by the permission of the lord with his decrees for all matters. It is all peace till the break of, dawn. So angels carry the commands of god. Flocks of angels, they say, descend on earth, and they carry the commands of, god. And what will make you comprehend what the night of destiny is? The night of destiny is better than a thousand months. On that night, the angels and the spirit comes down by the permission of the lord with his decrees for all matters. It is all peace till the break of, turn. So angels carry the commands of god. Flocks of angels, they say, descend on earth, and they carry the commands of, god.
- 58:12 Believers pray all through the night. It is also called as a night of decision because God decides for the coming year on that night, and it is, as quran says, better than the thousand months. So, hazrat aisha asked the prophet that, how should I pray if I find lailatul qadr? So he said, do this prayer that, oh god, you're the forgiver. Believers pray all through the night. It is also called as a night of decision because God decides for the coming year on that night, and it is, as Quran says, better than the thousand months. So, हज़द आइशा asked the prophet that, how should I pray if I find ललित उल कदर? So he said, do this prayer that, oh god, you're the forgiver.
- 58:41 You love to forgive your servants, so please forgive me. And forgiveness is everything. If you, realize that, if you are forgiven, that means you are entered in paradise, and therefore prophet advises that during this, night of destiny, ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness is everything. You love to forgive your servants, so please forgive me. And forgiveness is everything. If you, realize that, if you are forgiven, that means you are entered in paradise, and therefore prophet advises that during this, night of destiny, ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness is everything.
- 59:04 Another important part and this is, you know, the last part, which is the night of reward and I really want you to have this as a takeaway because, I know all of you are aware but what really happens is that when ramadan is almost over and it's the night before idul fitr, people get into this celebratory mode. They go for shopping, they already decide kal kya daalna hai, and they are out on the street burning fire crackers. - 59:34 No, you have spent thirty days. You have lived for thirty days with the spirit of ramadan and that is a night of special significance. In hadiths we find, it says every deed in Islam is rewarded from 10 to 700 times. But God says fasting is for me and I will give unlimited reward to the one who fast. No, you have spent thirty days. But God says fasting is for me and I will give unlimited reward to the one who fast.
- 59:58 Another portion of hadith which is reported by Hazrat Abu Huraira, he said that that it is the night when all the sins are forgiven. So companion said to the prophet that is it the knight of the power? He said no. But as soon as the deeds are done, the reward is immediately bestowed. So it is very important that you understand the importance of this night. Another portion of हदीज which is reported by अज़त अभीु हरेरा, he said that that it is the night when all the sins are forgiven. So companion said to the prophet that is it the knight of the power? He said no. But as soon as the deeds are done, the reward is immediately bestowed. So it is very important that you understand the importance of this night.
- 1:00:28 You should spend this night in supplication, in dua. Trust me, do this this time. If you haven't done it, if you're doing it, it's fantastic. But for once this year, do this and send a message message among all your group. Tell them, remind them that this is the night we have to be in our rooms. Read more and more about quran. Make your next year resolution. You should spend this night in supplication, in दुआ. Trust me, do this this time. If you haven't done it, if you're doing it, it's fantastic. But for once this year, do this and send a message message among all your group. Tell them, remind them that this is the night we have to be in our rooms. Read more and more about कुरान. Make your next year resolution.
- 1:00:54 Think, ponder how did the entire month of ramadan went and how you intend to, plan your future. Take a new, a new action plan. A person who's lived for thirty days in that spirit of ramadan cannot waste away this important night. Don't do that. So, you know, the multitude of benefits of ramadan, it inspired the prophet of Islam to say, welcome to the one who purifies. - 1:01:24 Thank you. I to me, I would interpret zakat as, in case of his spiritual wealth because real wealth is the spiritual wealth, not the material wealth. Thank you. I to me, I would interpret Saras as, in case of his spiritual wealth because real wealth is the spiritual wealth, not the material wealth.
- 1:01:48 And, as I explained in several verses that, zakat actually purifies your wealth and it also purifies, you as a personality. And, the real wealth therefore that you should always ask god is, keep, fill my heart with marifat, your light. So I would say it in that sense. We can we can take it the policy value. Yes, yes. - 1:02:18 But jo maine night of reward ke liye kaha na, please all of you, ab baad mein wini apa ko message bhejna, wini ma'am ko ki how you spend your night of reward. For once, do that. Don't go out, see, uske baad agle din eid hai and phir woh normal course of life hai, but yeh practice hui hai aapki. So, don't squander it away. But जो मैंने night of reward के लिए कहा ना, please all of you, अब बाद में विनी आपा को message भेजना, विनी ma'am को कि how you spend your night of reward. For once, do that. Don't go out, see, उसके बाद अगले दिन ईद है and फिर वह normal course of life है, but यह practice हुई है आपकी. So, don't squander it away.
- 1:02:41 That night immerse yourself in duas, in remembering god more. Main aap logon ka bahut purana saathi hoon. I am one of the very very old students. Thirty years back I sitting here. Main sir se yeh sawal poochna chahta hoon hamara prayagaruk lenge. How ab bachchon ke exams hain, right? That night immerse yourself in दुआs, in remembering god more. I am one of the very very old students. Thirty years back I sitting here. How अब बच्चों के exams हैं, right?
- 1:03:10 So how one should plan studies during the month? Now they have to study, they have to go for their, you know, final exam also. And other than the class are going to be there for, you know, for quite some time. Unless char paanch saal jo hain, hamein hi hirdan mein exams milenge. Toh I would like you to advise them us. So how should we learn the studies? So how one should plan studies during the month? Now they have to study, they have to go for their, you know, final exam also. And other than the class are going to be there for, you know, for quite some time. I would like you to advise them us. So how should we learn the studies?
- 1:03:34 So, see, one important aspect that I also mentioned is that ramadan helps you in taking away distractions out of your life. Toh which means mobile phone toh band ho gaya. Ramadan ka mahina bhi hai aur har ek ghanta jo hai woh usmein aap dua karein ki Allah taala ek ghante mein das ghante ki barkat dein, haan? And you have to study hard. So, see, one important aspect that I also mentioned is that रमादान helps you in taking away distractions out of your life. And you have to study hard.
- 1:03:59 See, matlab while what I am telling you and what vinay aapka mentioned at the beginning that if you internalize all this message for the rest of your life, so padhai is your priority. And agar woh ramadan us dauran aa raha hai to yeh to aur bhi achha hai. Because, you know, every single minute will be like worship. Because what are you studying for to become a better person, a contributing citizen of this nation and then helping others? See, मतलब while what I am telling you and what विनीय आपका mentioned at the beginning that if you internalize all this message for the rest of your life, so पढ़ाई is your priority. Because, you know, every single minute will be like worship. Because what are you studying for to become a better person, a contributing citizen of this nation and then helping others?
- 1:04:29 To understand the preciousness of your time. To aap planning kariye, har cheez planning se hi hoti hai. You have to plan your day ki aapko agar quran study karna hai, uska aapne time muqarrar kiya. Aapko sara din padhai karni hai, to aapne uska time muqarrar kiya. Beach mein aapne jo bhi breaks, like the normal course you do. तो understand the preciousness of your time. You have to plan your day कि आपको अगर कुरान study करना है, उसका आपने time मुक़ररर किया. Beach में आपने जो भी breaks, like the normal course you do.
- 1:04:50 But of course, if during ramadan it is falling, then of course it's altogether spiritual enhancement that would help you in, you know, achieving your task in a much better way. You want to add something? Yep. I think the only thing I would like to add is please don't spoil your routines. I mean, it's it's just a different routine that you have to follow during, ramzan. But of course, if during रामादान it is falling, then of course it's altogether spiritual enhancement that would help you in, you know, achieving your task in a much better way. You want to add something? Yep. I think the only thing I would like to add is please don't spoil your routines. I mean, it's it's just a different routine that you have to follow during, रमज़ान.
- 1:05:17 But just don't, like, get into the habit of waking up whole night, sleeping after sehri and then waking up at, zohar, and then that's when the day starts. So if you do that, then the whole purpose is defeated. Like, so it is a month of, where you actually tax yourself and and, you know, do more than what you would normally do. But just don't, like, get into the habit of waking up whole night, sleeping after Sehri and then waking up at, Zohar, and then that's when the day starts. So if you do that, then the whole purpose is defeated. Like, so it is a month of, where you actually tax yourself and and, you know, do more than what you would normally do.
- 1:05:42 So please stick to your routines of, you know, getting up early in the morning and, and studying at the time that you've always been doing. Sir, ramzan mein jaise matlab yeh ibaadat wagera sab bahut badhiya chal rahi hoti hai sir lekin ramzan ke jaise khatam hote hue eid ke baad sir phir dobara wahi downfall, aera start ho jata hai. To sir matlab usko kaise, us gap ko kaise kam karein? No, exactly. So please stick to your routines of, you know, getting up early in the morning and, and studying at the time that you've always been doing. No, exactly.
- 1:06:07 So that is what, you know, I talked about in the presentation that if you, if you observe, if you follow ramadan with the true spirit, then that thirty days of following ramadan becomes, you know, a habit. So, you make that as a habit and therefore, you know, ek mahina aap divine training karte hain aur gyarah mahine aap usko apni life mein implement karte hain. So that is what, you know, I talked about in the presentation that if you, if you observe, if you follow रामदान with the true spirit, then that thirty days of following रामदान becomes, you know, a habit. So, you make that as a habit and therefore, you know, एक महीना आप divine training करते हैं और ग्यारह महीने आप उसको अपनी life में implement करते हैं.
- 1:06:35 But that depends ki aapki tayyari kitni hai. Ab jaise aap aise samjhiye aap exam ke liye baithte hain, to kabhi bahut achhe number aate hain, kabhi nahin aate hain. Kyun? Kyunki aapki tyari agar bahut achhi hai, to aapke numbers bahut achhe hain. Ramadan mein bhi wahi hai. Agar aapne poori spirit jazbe ke saath, aapne sincerity ke saath ramadhan ko aapne, apni mind, apni life mein utara hai, to woh gyarah mahine tak aapko derail nahin hone dega. But that depends कि आपकी तैयारी कितनी है.
- 1:07:01 It will remind you, keep reminding you and by the time you start feeling that, you know, you are lowering in terms of, you know, your actions. Again, ramadhan will come to, you know, give you that training again. So that is why it is... 30 is is is a good practice. Sir, I want to ask what is nafs and how it is different from our souls? It will remind you, keep reminding you and by the time you start feeling that, you know, you are lowering in terms of, you know, your actions. Again, रमाधान will come to, you know, give you that training again. So that is why it is... 30 is is is a good practice. Sir, I want to ask what is नफ्स and how it is different from our souls?
- 1:07:31 To yeh nafs hai kya kya? I mean, it's, you know, controlling your desires. Like I mentioned with respect from ramadan and how it is linked to your desire management. See, har ek insaan ke andar desires hain and it is not that any one person is free from desires. Lekin hum logon ko kya karna hai? People think that, you know, we can remove every single bit of desire. It is not possible. I mean, it's, you know, controlling your desires. Like I mentioned with respect from रमादान and how it is linked to your desire management. See, हर एक इंसान के अंदर desires हैं and it is not that any one person is free from desires. People think that, you know, we can remove every single bit of desire. It is not possible.
- 1:08:00 But what you can do is, you can do nafs management, desire management. And how does that desire management happen? That happens with, you know, increasing your willpower, increasing your self control. And that is why one example that I gave ki do log ek jo fast rakhta hai aur ek jo fast nahin rakhta hai. Dono cannot be, both cannot be the same. But what you can do is, you can do नफ्ज़ management, desire management. And how does that desire management happen? That happens with, you know, increasing your willpower, increasing your self control. And that is why one example that I gave दोनों cannot be, both cannot be the same.
- 1:08:23 A person who, let's say, who keeps fast, uske andar jo will power hai, jo self control hai, jo desire management ki capability hai, woh zyada strong hai as compared to a person who doesn't keep fast. So this is, in that sense ramadan also helps you in, in desire management. A person who, let's say, who keeps fast, उसके अंदर जो will power है, जो self control है, जो desire management की capability है, वह ज़्यादा strong है as compared to a person who doesn't keep fast. So this is, in that sense रमा दान also helps you in, in desire management.
- 1:08:44 And you have to understand that nobody in this world will have his or her desire fulfilled in, in, on this planet. The desire fulfillment in this, in the strict sense of, or in the complete sense of the world will only happen in paradise. Har cheez ka aap dekhen alag alag hai pair rakha hai agar bhook hai, to khana hai, pyas hai to pani hai. And you have to understand that nobody in this world will have his or her desire fulfilled in, in, on this planet. The desire fulfillment in this, in the strict sense of, or in the complete sense of the world will only happen in paradise.
- 1:09:10 Usi tarike se desires hain, fulfillment uska paradise mein hai. To aap desire ko manage kar sakte hain. Aap desire ko khatam nahin kar paenge, woh to aate hi rahenge. That is what the essence of the Islamic life is. You keep reminding yourself, you have to control. You have to control, you have to bring in self discipline in, in oneself. That is what the essence of the Islamic life is. You keep reminding yourself, you have to control. You have to control, you have to bring in self discipline in, in oneself.
- 1:09:33 Saurabh, yeh poochhna tha ki like if one cannot afford Hajj to woh compensate kya aise actions kar lete ki jo skill hi hona chahiye. Nahin to woh to condition hi hai ki you, you can do Hajj if you can afford too. Aap dua karein, Allah se ki he creates situations aur he creates means that you are able to perform. सौरभ, यह पूछना था कि like if one cannot afford merge तो वह compensate क्या ऐसे actions कर लेते कि जो skill ही होना चाहिए. नहीं तो वह तो condition ही है कि you, you can do हर्ज़ if you can afford too. आप दुआ करें, अल्लाह से कि he creates situations और he creates means that you are able to perform.
- 1:09:57 But just remember that phir ke time par bhi aise hota tha ki jab woh log jaate the But just remember that पफिर के time पर भी ऐसे होता था कि जब वो लोग जाते थे
- 1:10:07 agar aapke andar itna bepana jazba hai, aapke andar yeh niyat hai, aap Allah taala se dua karte
- 1:10:28 To either he will, he will create situations, conditions that you are able to do. And I think that if you are not able to, but because of your intention, god will accept that intention as you are performing the Hajj. He is the most merciful, the most compassionate. Sabse important cheez hai ki aapka chahna sincerely, that is the most important thing. तो either he will, he will create situations, conditions that you are able to do. And I think that if you are not able to, but because of your intention, god will accept that intention as you are performing the hajj. He is the most merciful, the most compassionate. सबसे important चीज़ है कि आपका चाहना sincerely, that is the most important thing.
- 1:10:56 So same is with zakat also. That is also conditional. So if you fulfill that condition then it becomes an obligatory. That is why, yeah, isliye bhi kaha gaya ki even saying a good word is also a charity. Is Tom. Think Harish, Sam. So same is with ज़कात also. That is also conditional. So if you fulfill that condition then it becomes an obligatory. That is why, yeah, इसलिए भी कहा गया कि even saying a good word is also a charity. Is Tom. Think Harish, Sam.
- 1:11:24 So I've been working since 2007, as I told you earlier. So maybe, like, twenty years being working in corporates. So the thing is when I started working, I was earning very less. And now twenty years down the line, I might be earning a lot. But on the word on the mainly the if you discuss if you talk about this I think I'm not, like, doing it in the spirit. I'm just doing it as a duty. So I've been working since 2007, as I told you earlier. So maybe, like, twenty years being working in corporates. - 1:11:54 Like, I'm giving 25% of whatever the calculations come out to be. Now the question is, I have a son, seven year old. He's going to one of the most expensive school in Noida, for example. I can always, you know, send him to us a little cheaper school, as you said. I can live in a No. No. I never sent that sent. Go for luxury, for example. - 1:12:17 I'm just thinking about if I'm living in a very luxury I mean, one of the best societies, I'm sending my son to one of the best schools and doing only 2.5% of the duty for Zakat and not something more which I can do, actually. Is that the right thing to do, or should I compromise on my, like, family and, work more towards Zakat or maybe I'm? - 1:12:43 See, zakat ka it's very, I mean, I I I can't get into the technicalities of the calculations, what is remaining of your wealth, but it's a simple thing ki aapki jo bhi annual wealth bachti hai sab expenditure ke baad, you, you pay 2.5 of that remaining wealth. And at the same time, see, yeh yeh bhi hai ki god loves to see traces of his blessings on, on his servants. So, that doesn't mean that you live like a pauper. See, ज़कात का it's very, I mean, I I I can't get into the technicalities of the calculations, what is remaining of your wealth, but it's a simple thing कि आपकी जो भी annual wealth बचती है सब expenditure के बाद, you, you pay 2.5 of that remaining wealth. - 1:13:12 You can afford good clothes. You can drive a car but aap dhakke kha rahe hain bus mein, aap phate hue kapde daal rahe hain, no. He likes to see traces of wealth that he's bestowed upon you. But at the same time, you have to see yourself that are you being extravagant or are you being right in, in terms of the requirements? See, good education is important. Agar good education aapko ek particular school mein mil rahi hai to you should take that. You can afford good clothes. You can drive a car but आप धक्के खा रहे हैं bus में, आप फटे हुए कपड़े डाल रहे हैं, no. He likes to see traces of wealth that he's bestowed upon you. But at the same time, you have to see yourself that are you being extravagant or are you being right in, in terms of the requirements? See, good education is important. अगर good education आपको एक particular school में मिल रही है तो you should take that.
- 1:13:42 That is not your luxurious lifestyle. What luxurious lifestyle meant is that when people go beyond the need level of necessities. Now, even nowadays air conditioner has become a necessity. It's not a luxury. Aap, aap agar gharon mein aur offices mein isi nau, to log bimar pad jayenge. So, so whatever that was luxury at some point of time has become necessity. Now, it's a very different discussion. That is not your luxurious lifestyle. What luxurious lifestyle meant is that when people go beyond the need level of necessities. Now, even nowadays air conditioner has become a necessity. It's not a luxury. So, so whatever that was luxury at some point of time has become necessity. Now, it's a very different discussion.
- 1:14:09 All you have to do is just see that how are you spending the wealth? And at the same time, remember that whatever the verses that I explained so many and the examples I give, that while you are fulfilling your duty towards your family which is important, do that. You also have duty as a believer towards God's cause. So start with something. If you're not doing, build on it. All you have to do is just see that how are you spending the wealth? And at the same time, remember that whatever the verses that I explained so many and the examples I give, that while you are fulfilling your duty towards your family which is important, do that. You also have duty as a believer towards God's cause. So start with something. If you're not doing, build on it.

- 1:15:02 know, he listed out the things. know, he listed out the things.
- 1:15:07 It was not really required because agar koi emergency aa gayi to aap kya karenge? So, please differentiate what is necessary and important as you being a father, as a family man, and how you can, you know, revisit your expenditure that you are doing and then saving it for the cause of god. Sir, ek cheez yeh hai inka inka sawal hai. Hai na, lekin lagatar hai basis hai na 2.5%, not under our earning but on the savings. On the savings, yes. It was not really required because So, please differentiate what is necessary and important as you being a father, as a family man, and how you can, you know, revisit your expenditure that you are doing and then saving it for the cause of god. 2.5%, not under our earning but on the savings. On the savings, yes.
- 1:15:36 Haan. To agar agar hum save zyada kar rahe hain to 2.5 will be more, hai na? Yeah. Aur kharch kar rahe hain to it will be less. Correct. Aur zyada mujhe mera yield mein shayad hudood ne kabhi zakaat nahi di shayad, jahan tak mera eel mein. Kya cheez kisne? Hudood ne kabhi zakaat nahi di. Kinne? Haan. To woh kyu nahi di? Isliye nahi dena nahi chah rahe the. Unke paas kabhi aayi nahi itna ki woh minimum threshold mein aaye hain woh, theek hai? तो अगर अगर हम save ज़्यादा कर रहे हैं तो 2.5 will be more, है ना? Yeah. और खर्च कर रहे हैं तो it will be less. Correct.

- 1:18:56 But definitely a good education is a and likewise, you know, a better, a comfortable living. But assess, evaluate that can you save for the cause and save if you can and spend towards the cause. But definitely a good education is a and likewise, you know, a better, a comfortable living. But assess, evaluate that can you save for the cause and save if you can and spend towards the cause.
- 1:19:25 So main jab padh raha tha to mujhe aisa samajh mein aaya ki zakaat kyu introduce hui? Aapke mashra mein paisa aana chahiye aur jab zakaat aati thi to baitulmaal mein paisa aa raha us baitulmaal se kya karte the? Woh aise log jo shayad earning nahi kar paate the unke paas woh paisa chahta tha. To woh jo spirit thi na woh dekhiye main bhi sahi keh raha hoon mera bhai bhi sahi. Matlab woh jo mahashra aapne create kiya tha woh sabke liye aap sab kuch lao. Theek hai? Aaj ke time mein jab government taxes leti hai to kya karti hai?
- 1:19:54 Koshish yeh karti hai ki main infrastructure build karti So I think spirit itni important hai ki aap technicality mein ho sakta hai 2.5% ka upar 4% ho jaaye ya 2.6% ho jaaye. Important yeh hai ki aap logon nird kya karein? Aapke aas paas bhi bahut saare aise log honge. Aksar matlab yeh mandatory rakha hai ki bataish theek hai taaki insaan ko aadat pad jaaye.
- 1:20:13 Jab woh aadat pad jayenge tab us script ke saath padhni bahut zaroori I think spirit pakadna bahut zaroori hai saari cheezon mein. So that's what I personally No no, very good. Yeah. Spirit bahut zaroori hai. Absolutely, yes. Yeh dataities bhi manage ho jayegi, but woh important hai. So that's what I personally No no, very good. Yeah. Absolutely, yes.
- 1:20:40 Usmein aap jahan baithte hain sapne nigalta ke liye. You have a question? So sir as a good citizen, as a good citizen humein kaha jata ki taxes pay karo. To hum jab tax pay karenge like hum corporate world mein jaate ek heavy amount of tax lagta hai. To hum usko pay karenge to humein woh uska sawab milega ya woh milega. And they try to save the tax. You have a question? So sir as a good citizen, as a good citizen तो हम जब tax pay करेंगे like हम corporate world में जाते एक heavy amount of tax लगता है. And they try to save the tax.
- 1:21:09 Bahut saari tarike hote hain tax save karne ke liye and they plan it out like Hindus bahut karte hain plan out. So woh kehte hain ki like tax save karke to build it better for life. To soch raha hai kya hona chahiye? Matlab kabhi kabhi hum bhi confuse ho jaate like tax ko save karna to plan rakhun ya phir nahi? Aur tax save karne ke liye loan aur debt wagera kabhi pura hum finance mein padhaya gaya hai. To aisi baat nikli thi hamare friend seller mein ki kaise taxes ko bachaye? बहुत सारी तरीके होते हैं tax save करने के लिए and they plan it out like हिंदूs बहुत करते हैं plan out. So वह कहते हैं कि like tax save करके to build it better for life.
- 1:21:37 To maine kaha nahi main kabhi inshalan diye. Main loan nahi loongi. They were saying lekin tumhe lena padega. Kahin na kahin to credit score badhane ke liye kabhi bhi aur to yeh cheez thi ki No, so see there are two things. One is that we have to be a law abiding citizen And law abiding citizen means that you have to follow all the laws, the regulations that the government has laid out. Ek hota hai tax ki chori, ek hota hai tax ko bachana. They were saying लेकिन तुम्हें लेना पड़ेगा. No, so see there are two things. One is that we have to be a law abiding citizen And law abiding citizen means that you have to follow all the laws, the regulations that the government has laid out.
- 1:22:06 Dono mein bahut fark hai. Tax ki chori is, is absolutely no no. Ok? But tax ko bachana government itself has come out with schemes that if you do investment in a b c, then you can save taxes. So they, those schemes are also devised in a way to benefit. It comes back into the system. So that is ok. Tax की चोरी is, is absolutely no no. Ok? - 1:22:29 Jaise aap maan lijiye ki aapki taxable income hai, government says ki aap 1 lakh 50,000 tak aap ek equity linked savings scheme mein ya insurance plan mein daal sakte hain. Pachas hazar aap NPS mein daal sakte hain. To do lakh rupaye aapki total income se minus ho jayega, utna tax bach jayega. Which is absolutely fine. But tax ki chori nahi honi chahiye. Secondly, you really don't need to take a loan to improve your credit score. No? I mean, that is, that is ok. Which is absolutely fine. Secondly, you really don't need to take a loan to improve your credit score. No? I mean, that is, that is ok.
- 1:22:56 People say so that you take loan. Loan, aapko isliye nahi lena hai ki aap, aap, aapka, aapka credit score better ho jaaye. But maan lijiye ki aapko education leni hai aur uske liye aapke paas paise nahi hain. People say so that you take loan.
- 1:23:12 But that education can make you stronger financially, a better person, professionally way forward, then that loan is fine and you can pay repay that loan which is ok because uska badal mein aapko education mil rahi hai. So which is bachane ke liye debt ka kuch hai? No sir, tax bachane ke liye agar loan lena pade to woh mat kijiye. But that education can make you stronger financially, a better person, professionally way forward, then that loan is fine and you can pay repay that loan which is ok because So which is बचाने के लिए debt का कुछ है?
- 1:23:36 It's, I think that will not so yeah yeah so okay. Okay. Thank you, everyone. Yeah. It's, I think that will not so yeah yeah so okay. Okay. Thank you, everyone. Yeah.
