And he said, let me go to Syria. But हज़ाद उबा said, no, I will not allow you to go to Syria. ☆

Now, Hazrat Abu Darda was a man of hereafter and Hazrat Umar was offering him a worldly position. So of course he said, no, I will not take this. I will allow you with only one condition and that condition is that you accept the governorship of Syria. Let's go and visit Yazid bin Abu Sufyan. So हज़ात उमर agreed and and therefore, you know, he allowed हज़रत अबू दर्दा to travel to Syria. One year passed and हज़ात उमर said to his companion यार्फा, he said चलो Syria चलते हैं and they go to Syria. And हज़ात उमर said that I want to visit first some other companions. Let's go and visit Yazid bin Abu Sufin. ☆

He said, Yazid will be sitting on costly carpet along with his courtiers gossiping. There will be lighting of the lamp around and you will not be allowed to enter till you identify yourself.
